Should this Plot section be expanded?
editThe Plot outline was tagged with an "expand" tag. With respect, to go any further in presenting this particular plot would be to give away the denouement of what is, after all, a carefully-constructed suspense story. Equivalent to telling everyone "who done it" in The Mousetrap. I, at least, prefer to allow Wikipedia users to enjoy the suspense of a suspense story.... Nandt1 (talk) 13:04, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- Please note that Wikipedia is a factual source, and intended to be as complete as possible, and that the article about The Mousetrap does indeed reveal the ending. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.118.216.61 (talk) 07:15, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, yes, I am well aware that this is now official Wikipedia policy (though even the policy allows for flexible implementation) -- and also that the ending of the Mousetrap is revealed.
- But more seriously, rather than just repeating the official party line, haven't you ever stopped to ask yourself what readership Wikipedia exists to serve that would really want to have the plot twists of a suspense story revealed? Nandt1 (talk) 04:16, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- Myself, for one. I really was not interested in seeing this film, but to understand a comparison made in something else I was reading, an academic knowledge of the plot structure, including the nature of the twist, was necessary.
