@ساجد امجد ساجد and Mar4d: Her current name is Bushra Imran[1], not Maneka or Manika.— Bukhari (Talk!) 14:08, 18 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Note: her another name is 'Bushra Bibi'[2]Bukhari (Talk!) 14:11, 18 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
@BukhariSaeed: I agree, Maneka appears to be her name from her first marriage. Her maiden name is actually Bushra Wattoo, and the media has been referring to her as Bushra Imran since her marriage to Khan. Feel free to move the page. Mar4d (talk) 14:43, 18 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
But common name is Bushra Bibi. --Saqib (talk) 11:07, 19 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

DOB

edit

@ساجد امجد ساجد, Mar4d, Saqib, and BukhariSaeed: I've some reservations regarding his date of birth. As per The News [1] she was married for about thirty years so she can't born in 1978 as mentioned in article. Störm (talk) 15:05, 21 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Good edit! But as a basic req for Wiki we should have date of birth. Can someone get it from Pakistani govt.

Can someone get DoB of the First Lady of Pakistan. It should be very easy for Pandora is necessary for Wiki. Adl786 (talk) 21:57, 24 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

It is very odd that someone who joined just 5 hrs ago does first edit and too about year of birth of Bushra Bibi, without source! Adl786 (talk) 10:58, 25 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Lacks authenticated dob! Adl786 (talk) 16:13, 26 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

I think her date of birth should be removed. It is often quoted as 1974, but then she could not have legally got married in 1989. There is a law against child marriage in Pakistan that goes back as far as colonial India. I have found a source which gives a date in 1971, but it does not seem particularly reliable. Her DoB should be removed pending a more accurate and authoritative source is found.

Child marriages happen in Pakistan often despite the law, we should not remove a sourced entry. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 10:36, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've removed the date of birth since it lacks a source. --—Saqib (talk | contribs) 12:48, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
BTW an image of her passport is circulating on social media, indicating her birthday as 12 March 1971. However, I can't verify its authenticity nor we can cite it as a reference. Just wanted to post it here for the record. —Saqib (talk | contribs) 13:00, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I have reinstated the DOB and added a source. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 13:26, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Are you deliberately adding inaccurate information by using questionable sources that have merely copied data from Wikipedia? —Saqib (talk | contribs) 13:31, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
@SheriffIsInTown: This seems like a WP:CIRCULAR. Need better source(s). - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:36, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Indeed, the unsourced DoB was on WP before it was picked up by the Daily Pakistan, a publication known more for tabloid-style reporting than rigorous fact-checking. Sheriff, as someone aspiring to be an admin, it's crucial to exercise caution, particularly when handling BLPs. —Saqib (talk | contribs) 13:54, 25 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Meaning of "first lady"

edit

She is not the first lady of Pakistan. First lady means the wife of the president, even if the president has an honorific title. So, please, correct the article with real terms. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.91.51.235 (talk) 12:26, 14 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
