WikiProject COVID-19

edit

I've created WikiProject COVID-19 as a temporary or permanent WikiProject and invite editors to use this space for discussing ways to improve coverage of the ongoing 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic. Please bring your ideas to the project/talk page. Stay safe, ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:52, 15 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Timeline to Categories

edit

I will be organizing timeline elements, as well as other news, into Covid Impact categories (e.g., impact on military, tourism, etc.) Sci Phidelity (talk) 16:45, 4 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Daily reporting of positive cases

edit

Hello, I removed two entries from the Timeline that were simple reports of new confirmed cases. These are redundant to, and less contextualized, than the updates to Template:COVID-19 pandemic data/United States/Guam medical cases chart. If there's something unusual about the numbers, such as there's a high number of people from one outbreak or one village or people in quarantine, then that's worth pointing out, but having an entry for each day simply stating the number of new confirmed cases isn't very useful imo, especially without also saying how many people left quarantine.

Also, the DPHSS graph is apparently dated by when the tests were taken, not when they were reported. So even if the news says that nine people tested positive "today", that may be 3 people tested 2 days ago, 5 people from 3 days ago, and 1 person from 4 days ago. The DPHSS graph always seems two days late because those tests haven't come back yet. That graph also sometimes updates numbers from many days ago, apparently when DPHSS cleans up their bookkeeping. - Featous (talk) 15:06, 28 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
