<YuAndrew>Wiki15Feb : One thing to include is the interactions with humans and livestock. It is already given that these beetles affect legume crops. But the impacts are not given in this article. Since agriculture is affected and is important to humans, further explanation on these beetles’ effects on crops and livestock would be important. Additionally, information about how to control these beetles would be useful in implementing these methods in real life.

I added the following sections to the article: Flightless vs. Flight Forms and Antennae under Description, Mating (Courtin Behavior, Sex Pheromone, Cost of Mating and Egg Production, Inbreeding), Polyandry (Strategic Ejaculation), Reproductive Interference, Oviposition, Parasitism, and Pest Control. I also incorporated previous information into the corresponding section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cvj.005 (talk • contribs) 06:41, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
Article Review
editI edited the lead section of the article by adding "also known as" for the alternate names of the beetle so that all the names weren't just listed out. I also put distribution first in the "habitat and distribution" heading because it is described first in the section. I restructured the second to last sentence of the flight vs flightless forms section to make the flightless forms the subject instead of the flight forms for a smoother transition from the previous sentence. I also added that longevity refers to adult life span because that was initially unclear. I made some grammatical corrections like changing "shower" to "shorter" and added the word where it was missing. I think the article could benefit from additional information about pest control methods since it was mentioned that several methods are used, but only one was described.Frenchfrylvr (talk) 03:32, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Frenchfrylvr
Chri Ye (talk) 01:01, 22 March 2024 (UTC)The Wiki page includes a very comprehensive list of information about Callosobruchus chinensis. The structure is well organized and the content is clearly written. I added a separate section about the Food resources. The description section was included toward the end of the article. I moved it to the beginning since it provides the most basic information about the species. I rewrote part of the lead section by rearranging sentences and adding the information that Callosobruchus maculatus has a similar lifestyle with Callosobruchus chinensis. I expanded Pest control section by talking about how ants might be helpful for controlling the beetles. I also added the Interaction with the host section — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chri Ye (talk • contribs) 01:00, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
Article review (19 Mar. 2024)
editI added clarification between some terms in the flight vs flightless section and in the antennae section to make them more accessible to general audiences. I removed the "food resources" section because it was only two sentences and a repetition of what was already stated previously. I also renamed the section "parental care" to "oviposition" because there wasn't any talk about parental care of offspring, only selection of where to lay eggs. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tommytrope (talk • contribs) 22:57, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
Revisions
editGreat article! There is a lot of interesting information and it is integrated well into the encyclopedia format. I went ahead of made some changes to awkward sentence structure/ambiguous wording. I found the discussion of the male sclerites to be a bit confusing. Early in the mating section you mention how the sclerites do not cause significant damage to the female, but later mention that damage caused by these sclerites could be linked to shorter female life spans. Damage that shortens a life span sounds pretty significant to me. Overall, very nice job! Oroblancos (talk) 02:27, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
