— Although a former RM request established the usage of the name Case Closed, the reason for that was there have been already English releases of the respective manga, anime, and movies (as in the case of Case Closed: The Time-Bombed Skyscraper and Case Closed: The Fourteenth Target) under the Case Closed name. The DC/CC movies nominated here, however, have never been released in English, and the Japanese maintain their naming with "Detective Conan." Thus, naming any of these movies with Case Closed is purely speculative and violates WP:CRYSTAL. —Samuel di Curtisi di Salvadori 04:16, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

- Oppose - Sense all the other artciles are named "Case Closed..." this should be as well. Even the manga article has been renamed Case Closed, even though not all of the manga has been released yet. Same should go for this, although not all the movies have been released, some have. It is apparent Funinamtion will continue to release the show with the title "Case Closed", so the english name should be used. Keep it consistant. - Prede (talk) 04:19, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Support - There would not be Case Closed nomenclature if they did not have a licensed English version released under the name of Case Closed. There's no hard evidence to support that FUNimation did have the rights to all these movies.--Samuel di Curtisi di Salvadori 04:38, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose - Be consistent. Either everything as Detective Conan, or everything as Case Closed. Switching in the middle and switching back if further movies are licensed is absurd, and smells of sour grapes. Doceirias (talk) 06:47, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Support for the reasons stated in the previous RM, the reasons stated by the nominator, and the reasons stated by Samuel Curtis. Appropriate redirects should be in place, too, just in case someone decides to use the other title. Moving an article is not a big deal once a particular movie has been licensed, so this shouldn't be a big deal, either. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 17:11, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Discussion
edit- Any additional comments:
- Prede: Viz has got the license for all of the manga, so any future manga would be named Case Closed. On the other hand, you have no proof that:
- Any, or all of these movies were licensed for English-language distribution, and
- The licensee would use the name Case Closed.
- Hence, as long as there is no absolute proof that any of these movies were licensed and they would be called Case Closed, I would keep the Detective Conan naming. Of course, I would rename them into Case Closed namings once FUNimation started to sell those DVDs under Case Closed.--Samuel di Curtisi di Salvadori 04:53, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- It should be noted that the closing remark for the renaming request mentioned above included the following
- This in no way entails that all the related articles must be at titles based on "Case Closed"; an article about a film which has not been released under a "Case Closed" title should remain at a "Detective Conan" title. They must be decided on a case-by-case basis.
- --Samuel di Curtisi di Salvadori 04:55, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- I just moved them orginally because I felt they should all be consistant. If everyone wants them all to move back I really won't mind. It's not that big of deal. But mine as well waite for everyone to cast a vote in this before doing anything. - Prede (talk) 19:38, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
Note: There is a similar discussion taking place over at Talk:Higurashi no Naku Koro ni#Propose article name change to When They Cry. The Anime property was licensed by geneon, and translated as When They Cry - but the remaining properties (video games, manga, etc) were never licensed, and feature the title Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: When Cicadas Cry. AtaruMoroboshi (talk) 13:04, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
- The difference is that Geneon went out of buisiness. FUNimation is still in buisiness and claims they will keep dubing episodes and movies. There is no reason to think they would randomly stop, in the middle. While Geneon didn't stop producing the remaining properties, but rather stoped all operations. There is a difference, all through both are still similar. - Prede (talk) 00:26, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
