@Bradford: Hey, you removed the infobox image from 2019 (this one) with the reason that "it is very poor quality". Respectfully, I suggest getting a new monitor because that photograph is literally in 4K with three clear focal distances - you can see the flecks of makeup on her forehead and eyelashes. Compared to the 2017 one (which isn't bad), it's a massive upgrade in terms of quality. It's just a bit smaller in terms of dimensions, but even makes up for that by being closer to the subject (we don't need to see her legs) and is preferred because she's facing the camera. There are probably arguments against using it, but being lower quality than the 2017 photo is inaccurate, and saying it's of very poor quality is just wrong. I am just confused at why you would claim that. Kingsif (talk) 06:11, 25 November 2019 .(UTC)

I am drawing on what he says MOS:IMAGES. The image you provided is not so bad, but it looks like it is a screenshot. And I do not understand why the article should be illustrated with that image, when there is one of better quality. It is not current, but it is always recommended to use good quality images in the information box. If none exists, a screenshot could be used.--—  Bradford  (Talk) 06:22, 25 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
It is a screenshot, but MOS:IMAGES makes no distinction; is a screenshot by nature deemed inferior quality to a photograph? I don't think the 2017 image is better quality - not a screenshot is a benefit, but then it also has factors that make it inferior (including, yes, not being current). Weighing them, they could be about the same, and I would err on the more recent. But I don't mind so much because 2017 isn't that long ago, I just don't understand the quality argument. Lead section
  • Can you provide a source for Suárez’s date of birth and birth name? That’s the only item without a citation in this article.
  • Although you have provided a source for that quote from Ignacio Sánchez Prado, it’s lacking a page number (important for book-length sources).
Early life
  • Irrelevant content: “She also says that she still has best friends she has known since the age of four.” I’ll leave this one up to you, but I think we can trim it without hurting the article.
Career
  • Awkward sentence: “She says that she looks on her experience making it with hindsight, seeing it only positively…” Please re-word this more clearly and concisely.
  • “Around this time, Suárez met Manolo Caro, when he was 14.” Can you clarify Caro’s significance here, for readers who have never heard of Caro? For example, “Suárez met 14-year-old Manolo Caro, an aspiring filmmaker”.
  • Awkward sentence: “The film Nos vemos, papá, which is about how grief is expressed and explores this through Suárez's character's response to the death of her father, was released shortly after Suárez's own father died at the end of 2012.” We’ve both tried to edit this line, but it still feels long and clunky to me. There is just too much info packed into this single sentence. Can you split it up?
Activism
  • Unclear sentence: “Caro has said that this has had some issues…” What do you mean by “issues” here? Please rephrase and/or add some detail.
  • Query: Is Suárez still an activist with Greenpeace? What came after the Mexican Maize campaign? This paragraph seems lacking in detail.
Personal life
  • This section needs to be structured in a more straightforward way: right now, it jumps abruptly from de León being a “former partner” in 2010, to García Bernal in 2001, and then to Suárez first meeting de León in 2009. A chronological order of events would probably work better.
  • Irrelevant content: is it important for readers to know that Suárez was “already with someone else” when she first met de León? Or that de León later claimed Suárez was “jealous of his new relationship” and “a lesbian who used him like a donor to have the child”? That kind of detail might be entertaining, but it’s not noteworthy, and I don’t think it’s necessary for an encyclopedic article. That final paragraph with Suárez’s perspective on relationships (and Caro’s opinion of Suárez) also feels superfluous. The rest of the article does a great job of staying focused on the most important facts – this section just needs some tidying up.
References
  • On the whole, your references section looks solid, but I see several citations are missing author names. Please add author names wherever possible.
  • You should also ensure that all Spanish-language sources are marked as such.
  • Two of your People En Espanol sources appear to be broken (citations 41 & 42). You'll need to repair the links or find new replacement sources.
One last miscellaneous query
  • Is there any more relevant information on Suárez’s connection to Spain, either personal or professional? You mention briefly that she has Spanish citizenship, and that she received “Bazaar Actitud 43, a lifetime achievement award in Spain”, but that’s all, so I’m wondering if there’s anything else. Has she performed in European productions?

This article is pretty close to meeting all criteria. Once we've tackled the items above, we should be just about set. Alanna the Brave (talk) 21:29, 22 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Alanna the Brave: I think I've checked everything off except the author names, which I'll look through, and expanding on Spain. She has performed in Spain, and at least lives in Madrid part of the year based on where her interviews come from - the source that says she acquired Spanish citizenship a few years ago doesn't say why. The lifetime achievement award from Spain is because of the crossover in Spanish-language media - like a Brit getting a similar award in the US. I'll look into this more, though! Awesome! I can see the "personal life" section is looking much better now. I'll check in again soon to see how everything else looks. Alanna the Brave (talk) 23:08, 22 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Author parameters done now, too. Kingsif (talk) 01:07, 23 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Alrighty -- I've crossed out the issues addressed so far (most of them), and I've added one additional referencing issue I found in my latest read-through. Alanna the Brave (talk) 17:53, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! Fixed the urls, and added archive urls, too. Kingsif (talk) 18:49, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Alanna the Brave: I've tried to tackle the sentence about Sex, shame and tears, tell me what you think, and feel free to work on it, too. Kingsif (talk) 19:12, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Kingsif: I think that sentence looks good now. The only thing left to address is the question of whether there is any more relevant info on Suárez’s connections to Spain -- have you found anything? Whether the answer is yes or no, I would mainly just like to confirm that you've taken the time to check it out. Let me know once you're done! Alanna the Brave (talk) 20:43, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Alanna the Brave: I've done a bit of a dive, and added a mention that some of the family is from Asturias, but a lot of the coverage of 'Cecilia Suárez + Spain' is about filming Someone Has to Die, so I'm not sure there's much on roots there. Kingsif (talk) 21:03, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Kingsif: All right -- that's fair enough. I'm satisfied this article meets all six GA criteria now, so I'm going to promote it. Nice work! Alanna the Brave (talk) 21:32, 24 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
