I suspect that this could be a more detailed article, although I would not be qualified to make it more so. Articles on other cable TV stations are definitely more detailed (MTV), why is this one so short? Could somebody add to this article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.10.241.61 (talk) 14:10, 2005 September 19 (UTC)

Page Defacing after Censorship

It looks like the page has been defaced and a section removed from the main article to make claims involving the censorship issue. The page should be restored and the censorship issue discussed in the South Park article only. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.9.215.87 (talk) 08:05, 2006 April 14 (UTC)

Edit: Reverted article to April 13th version. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.9.215.87 (talk) 08:15, 2006 April 14 (UTC)
no it should also be mentioned here since it is comedy central that caused the censorship. it is relevant information on the station. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.219.67.81 (talk) 04:22, 2006 April 20 (UTC)

Comedy Central and Money

I was thinking about adding a section about how Comedy Central has the image of being cheap and paying their stars not a whole lot of money. Howard Stern, Dave Chapelle, and John Stewart have all mentioned this (there's video of it). Not to knock them but it seems to be a running gag on Comedy Central shows. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.252.45.204 (talk) 19:10, 2006 March 21 (UTC)

odd

IS it wrong to point out that virtualy everyone who has a regular show on that channel is Jewish?

I'm looking at the list of current shows, and other than Jon Stewart, Matt Stone, and possibly one of the creators of Drawn Together (just going by his last name), I don't see anyone else who is Jewish. So how is that "virtually" everyone? Even including older original programming.
... It's Comedy Central, not Boring WASP Central.

Comedy Central and the Censorship of muhammed

I think this is worth discussing. I'm too angry to say anything right now, but I hope others are calm enough. Please discuss.

Maybe you could at least explain what in the blue hell you're talking about? VelvetKevorkian 10:16, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

CC launch in Germany

Comedy Central is currently advertising it's launch in Germany all over the web and over MTV Central. I added a quick note to the first line. This line should be changed to "in the United States and in Germany" (o.s.) once the german station has launched (15. Jan. 2007). If someone is interested, a small section or some lines about it would be good. - - 'twsx'talk'cont' 15:54, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Time Warner Channel Number

I notice that the information box on the right side lists a Time Warner channel number. Should this be there? It's highly inaccurate, as cable channeling varies greatly by market (for example, here Comedy Central is channel 54, not 35) 72.135.237.145 03:11, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

The Scrubs network?

Has anyone else noticed that any time you turn on this channel you are seeing a rerun of scrubs? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.184.241.144 (talkcontribs) 16:59, 29 July 2007

CC in the 1990s

The "History" section of this page has a "more sources" tag because of the lack of sources for verification. I have trouble with something right here about Comedy Central's old name. This New York Times article says that CTV was "Comedy TV", but I see another article claiming that the initial merger name was "CTV the Comedy Network". Also I couldn't seem to find a source for a dispute with CTV Television Network of Canada. Also I'm at a loss to find sources for the "Secret Stash" and South Park being the first-ever "TV-MA" show on basic cable. I really need your help to add sources, otherwise the ugly "more sources needed" tag will remain indefinitely. --Andrewlp1991 04:40, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Southparkforcc.JPG

Image:Southparkforcc.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

is channel really offered anywhere in HD?

hello,

there is a link at the bottom of article - "cable HD channels" (sending one to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Cable_HD_channels) where bravo is listed.

however, subject article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comedy_Central) doesn't discuss HD at all (launch date or carrier(s)). i certainly don't get it here on timewarnercable in nyc (not that that means much)...perhaps it is offered on directtv?

Secret Stash Censorship

Despite complete uncensored adult language & violence, AND 1:00 AM airings, AND a TV-MA rating, AND no FCC content restrictions, don't you think Comedy Central should just air these films fully uncensored? Lets just quickly go around the room......yes or no? I say yes Gutch220 (talk) 02:14, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

HD Daily Show/Colbert Report

The Emmy and Peabody Award-winning network mainstays, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report will initially be upconverted for Comedy Central HD but will be broadcast in native HDTV sometime in the future.

Bad grammar in final section

Regarding South Park episode 201, please change this to say either "censored a South Park episode, 201," or "censored South Park episode 201." Having a comma without the associated article is meaningless. Thanks. 209.6.52.213 (talk) 18:38, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Geocaching of websites

This no longer applies, both Comedy Central in the U.S. and The Comedy Network in Canada have turned off their Geocaching functions and both sites are accessible from each respective country, although it should be noted that access multimedia including full episodes is still restricted to each respective territory. So could someone please remove this paragraph? 71.101.84.191 (talk) 00:21, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 04:16, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
