editWhy does Common Market have to refer to the European instance? There are other common markets, whether already in existance or developing. Xyzzyva 17:55, Jan 5, 2005 (UTC)
- yes, currently the article (single market) reflects this. Alinor 17:41, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Requested move
editCommon Market → Common Market (Music) – Common market → Common market (Economics) … Rationale: The only thing currently separating the economic term and the name of a music group (Common Market) is a capital letter and this appears to cause confusion and leads to trouble when using the "back" or "forward" buttons of internet explorer (explorer just skips over one article or the other). I think they should both be changed so that the music group goes from Common Market → Common Market (Music) … Please share your opinion at Talk:Common market -- 208.131.183.198 17:25, 31 August 2006 (UTC) 208.131.183.198 17:49, 31 August 2006 (UTC) Note: Please add your vote to the Survey at Talk:Common market. Please specify which move, if any or even both, that you prefer.

Deletion/ Notability
editCommon Market (band) has been put up for deletion due to issues surounding it's Notability. However, according to Notability (music) standards Common Market (band meets several notability criteria, such as * Has had a charted hit on any national music chart (CMJ Hip Hop chart), * Has been featured in multiple non-trivial published works in reliable and reputable media (including Billboard, MSN.com, The Stranger, The Seattle Weekly, The Seattle Times, The Seattle PI, Urb, Vice.com, Okayplayer.com, Spin.com)
- Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or the local scene of a city, * Has won or placed in a major music competition (Seattle Weekly Best New Band, Best Vocalist, 2006).
- Has been placed in rotation nationally by any major radio network KEXP, KXLU, * Has been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast on a national radio network KEXP
Since Common Market (band) meets several of the Notability (music) criteria it should not be deleted.
