Sister To NJPW

edit

Where is the proof that CMLL is the sister promotion to New Japan Pro wrestling

They did have a joint website for some time but with all the changes in New Japan and the abandonment of G-1 World project, I think it's safe to take it down. Now they are just doing some talent exchanges here and there.--Darren Jowalsen 18:48, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

CMLL in Spain

edit

CMLL is broadcast in Spain Saturday and Sunday at 6:00 in a 2 hour block. Not speaking Spanish I wasn't sure which show they were broadcasting, IE original programming, or rebroadcast compilation shows. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.143.131.23 (talk) 18:11, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The show is available on BT Vision's download service. As of today, there are 26 episodes available, with the first show featuring the match Blue Panther lost his mask. I've added this information to the relevant section in the article. HDC7777 (talk) 16:03, 22 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Worldwide or just world?

edit

Is "Worldwide Wrestling Council" the correct translation? I'd expect "mundial" to just mean "of the world". I would expect something like "Consejo Mundial Entero" or "Consejo del Mundo Entero" or "Consejo Todo el Mundo" to be used to mean worldwide, no?

Google gets many more hits for "world", by about 70 to 1. This WaPo article says "world", as does this article at Nippon.com. —[AlanM1(talk)]— 09:22, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • It was "World" on Wikipedia too until recently, someone has been changing it to "Worldwide" in various articles. I would agree that "World" is the appropriate translation. MPJ-DK (talk) 11:19, 9 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
@MPJ-DK: It should have been changed back and the person should have notified not to change it. Also, a reference would be good to show that "World" is correct not "Worldwide." Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 07:02, 28 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge

edit

I propose that List of current champions in CMLL be merged into this article, as a) it duplicates the information here, and b) the list here is out-dated with the other page, and doesn't appear to be checked despite the banner on the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre#Current championships section. 2A00:23C6:761C:AF01:C88C:7DB0:5190:17BA (talk) 11:23, 17 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Agree. No need for duplicating information, especially as one page is more up-to-date than the other. 155.190.60.34 (talk) 05:00, 20 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Disagree, I think active effort should be taken in maintaining the page and updating it to be up to date WaimiriMaina (talk) 07:40, 21 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose merge. CMLL has a lot of championships, so the list would be too large in an already large article. If anything, there's no need for an entire duplicate list in this article. The practice of including them (complete with images where available) in promotion articles is the pointless duplication. There should be a pointer, with a very'm brief summary of which titles the promotion has. Not a full duplication of the chart. oknazevad (talk) 00:29, 29 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
That would work too - but as it stands the list is in it's own article and duplicated (badly) here, so either the list is removed from this article, as you suggest, or its merged here.
But something needs to happen imo. 2A00:23C6:761C:AF01:9D16:FFFA:1216:E1FB (talk) 16:09, 30 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
