Copenhagen Tunnel is not bidirectionally signalled
editThe OP provided three sources that state that Copenhagen tunnel is bidirectionally signalled. But those 'sources' were really hearsay, because they do not state where that information comes from...not surprising since it is incorrect ! I suspect that somebody heard that Gasworks Tunnel is bidirectional and just assumed that Copenhagen was the same. Urban myths are created, and then one person quotes another person and so on.
Fortunately the railway provides the definitive source of information about infrastructure - namely the Network Rail Sectional Appendix. LN1 (London North Eastern) LOR LN101 Seq 002 shows clearly what happens.
The four lines out of Kings Cross running through Gasworks tunnel are bidirectional (labelled A,B,C & D) as far as Belle Isle, where via crossovers they resolve into the Up & Down Fast and the Up & Down Slow lines before entering Copenhagen tunnel.
