Note on where to place material on the newly discovered coronavirus

edit

I've removed a large section on the new coronavirus. As I wrote in the edit summary, this article focuses on the classification of the entire Coronaviridae family. There is also coronavirus in general, as well as numerous articles for the new coronavirus where this material is being covered in detail:

and numerous other subarticles in the Category:2019–20 Wuhan coronavirus outbreak. Espresso Addict (talk) 04:17, 8 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

The family tree picture needs updated. I cannot find Sars-CoV 2 (COVID-19) on the family tree. Is it apart of a subgenus? 38.43.32.46 (talk) 21:18, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Increase page protection

edit
this page needs this level of protection way too much misinformation is going around and wikipedia will draw both well intentioned but misinformed editors as well as bad actors who merely want to cause chaos and panic. Not sure if this is posted correctly but I strongly encourage the above action.
Not done: requests for increases to the page protection level should be made at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. Izno (talk) 02:31, 17 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

The article is incorrect.

edit

The family coronaviridae is colloquially referred to as coronavirus. Letovirinae is as much coronaviruses as coronavirinae.
