• The bit about war in Vietnam in Berkeley is confusing. UC Berkeley should be shifted to clarify that the protest was in Berkeley and the war was in Vietnam.
• Twice we are told Melton was a regular at Jabberwock. The second time can be reworded.
• Simpler wording can be used instead of "amassed performing credits", "possessed recording experience", "political protest prowess".

• It's not essential, but it's possible to trim Google book URLs down the page number, such that the first long URL shown below becomes the second, shorter URL. Doing so preserves page number but gets rid of search terms. Note that the URL is trimmed back to the page number following the first instance of the sequence "pg=" (without the quotes). I made all the revisions you recommended, hopefully they are to your liking. I clarified the protest situation at UC Berkeley, reworded the parts about Melton's activty at the Jabberwock, choose your second recommendation on how to simplify the wording, and added "side of the EP". I am a little confused by what you mean by the URL trimming, so I did not make the change out of fear of messing up the current references.
