The Big Heat
editI would be happy to be corrected on this, but might be of interest to note that the French title for the film The Big Heat was also Coup de Torchon. The Big Heat was written by another American writer of hardboiled fiction, William P McGivern.
The film Coup de Torchon is therefore like the film Blade Runner, it was written by one writer but has a title from another. For Blade Runner, although the story is credited to Philip K Dick, the title come from William S Burroughs.
