Free State of Rijeka

edit

From the article: "The city of Fiume (Rijeka) was declared to be the Free State of Fiume (against the will of the majority of the population, who claimed the city should be reunited with Italy)..." Is there any reference that majority preferred unification with Italy? If not, I suggest that the statement gets deleted. I have removed the statement in parenthesis since there was no reference to it and I find it highly doubtable. Also, I have changed 'reunited' with 'annexed'. Martin 18:56, 23 January 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Martinb1 (talkcontribs)
