Actually the 7th Crimson Dynamo as recorded in Iron Man #317, was Tony Stark, who happened to be in the suit when the chest beam was fired and killed the Titanium Man. 68.102.83.207 (talk) 16:39, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Airstrike-comics.jpg

edit

Image:Airstrike-comics.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

red not crimson

edit

"Krasno" resp "Красно" is the russian word for "red", not for crimson.--Baruch ben Alexander - ☠☢☣ 04:08, 7 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, that is true. But the rationale for using 'krasny' rather than 'bagrovyj' given in the comments on the 'Crimson Dynamo' mini-series was that someone heard his name in Russian and elected to call him 'Crimson Dynamo' because that sounds more like 'Krasný Dinamo'. In any case, the armor isn't crimson - it's red. See: http://www.farawaypress.com/comics/crimsondynamo/crimsondynamo1.html : "We did a lot of Russian translations for the series, but one problem we had to solve early on was the name. "Dynamo" is certainly a big word in Russian, but the world "crimson" doesn't translate as simply as we would have liked. The word for "crimson" is roughly the same word for "raspberry," which doesn't have much punch to it as the name of a big supervillain. We figured that the real name was "krasnii dinamo," or "red dynamo," and that Tony Stark simply misheard it back in that original Stan Lee story. We can well understand why Lee didn't just call him the Red Dynamo, as that sounds like a floor cleaner..." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.163.78.104 (talk) 10:10, 20 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Galina Dynamo working for the Mandarin?

edit

Leaving aside comments as to whether anything Matt Fraction ever writes has any connection to Marvel continuity as a whole at all, it seems very unlikely that "One of the best Crimson Dynamos ever" would just join up with the Mandarin, when any other way would be so much simpler. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.163.78.104 (talk) 10:23, 20 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Picture problems

edit

The images in the article at the moment don't quite line up right. The Vanko armor is fine, but the armor shown as belonging to Nevsky is where things start to go wrong. That image is actually the armor worn by Yuri Petrovich, the fourth CD, who only ever appeared in the Champions storyarc, and never in that armor. Meanwhile, this armor was designed (off-panel) for Dmitri, and only worn by he and those who followed him; heck, the file is even named "Yuricrimson.jpg," so its name isn't even right. We should really replace the Airstrike armor picture with Yuricrimson.jpg, and leave the Airstrike picture for its own article. I've fixed those now, but I wanted to put an explanation in here for when someone invariably thinks it's vandalism and tries to revert it. I checked the comics, based on the info found on this (and related) pages. --There are no names left (talk) 06:02, 1 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
