Orphaned references in Cultural impact of Beyoncé

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Cultural impact of Beyoncé's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Malaysia":

  • From I Am... (Beyoncé tour): Thompson, Matt (October 19, 2009). "Beyonce's Malaysian Concert Postponed Again". MTV News. MTV Networks. Retrieved January 30, 2012.
  • From Formation (song): "Top 30 Singles Chart Malaysia". Archived from the original on May 5, 2016.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. Feel free to remove this comment after fixing the refs. AnomieBOT 00:57, 31 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

This page should not be speedily deleted because I feel like we still have time to fix this article (since we all acknowledge the cultural impact of Beyoncé (this artist's article) is very enormous with a lot of academic sources written about her). Please call other editors to expand this article with notable information backed up by reliable sources first within 30 days. If this article is not expanded within 30 days then please delete this article. --2600:1700:2094:9A00:341C:A0D2:6FF3:AFFD (talk) 23:35, 11 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

This page does not respect Wikipedia rules. It is very disrespectful to create an article with no regard of the site's guideline rules. Bithelp (talk) 12:32, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

This page should be speedily deleted because the information lacks a reliable source that can support what is explained on the page. --AlexanderShakifan29 (talk) 05:08, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

It’s quite comical your reasoning for deletion is the “lack of reliable sources” when a quick look at your editing history shows us an abundance of random, unreliable sources within the Cultural impact of Shakira article. At least make an effort to hide your bias next time. StatsFreak (talk) 02:03, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

This page should not be speedily deleted because (American singer Beyoncé has had undisputed impact in pop culture and the world overall. Her endeavors and career are worthy of having such Wikipedia page. Do not delete it. Instead, work on perfecting the page, or, at least, correcting it to meet the Wiki standards.) 89.36.201.200 (talk) 11:36, 12 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

This page should not be speedily deleted. If Beyoncé does not have enough “reliable”, “noteworthy” content to appease the very clearly biased users who are contesting this article’s deletion, then articles such as Cultural impact of Taylor Swift and Cultural impact of Shakira existing is… laughable to say the least. Never mind the fact that a fan of Taylor Swift has removed significant portions of this article without valid reasoning. StatsFreak (talk) 02:07, 13 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

No, the existence of articles such as Cultural impact of Taylor Swift and Cultural impact of Shakira is well-understandable because the impact of these artists may be too broad to be covered in their biography articles. If you've read these articles, these articles did very great job at covering the subjects' impact beyond music with very detailed and complex information and these articles are edited/updated almost like every day, meanwhile this article has been created for 1-2 months but most information on this article are brought from either the subject's (Beyoncé) biography article or the article of the subject's work (albums, songs), even the deleted copy of this article which is archived on EverybodyWiki. I do not see the improvement of this article that it needs to have, which is not a great example of WP:SPINOFF. RegularboyA (talk) 14:35, 22 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
A quick google search shows Beyoncé's cultural influence in and beyond the music sphere from her buildings in her image in Australia, to her presence at the Louvre increasing musuem attendance by over 2 million to her visuals being a reference for directors in the film industry to her block buster revenue generation in the fashion realm and global economy to countless studies being done on her art. All of these are highlighted in reputable sources as well. All this page needs is someone to take up the mantle to strengthen it. Please leave your stan wars out of this. In future I believe all stans should be banned from editing or even contributing to any of these pages because their implicit bias shows. Pvalley955 (talk) 13:58, 23 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Agree with this OP that this article shouldn't be deleted. Beyonce arguably has more cultural impact as she has had a longer career (since the 90s, 2000s if only solo) than a singer like Taylor Swift.
And we really have to talk about that Taylor Swift editor's WP:NPOV and WP:OWN issues, many of which have been documented in the past. PHShanghai | they/them (talk) 15:23, 19 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Pop culture reference

edit

I think the Pop culture references section should be deleted because it's been added for like 4 months without citations, and it's destroying the article. It can only stay there if someone has good references. I want your opinions before deleting it, cuz I can't find reliable source to cite for the section. Yotrages (talk) 23:29, 24 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Yotrages The Pop culture references section has been moved to its own page and expanded. 100+ citations have been added to create a chronological list of mentions across film and television, as well as musical "needle-drops" across advertisements, film, and TV. Please add any additional references you can find. Cheers! Trainsskyscrapers (talk) 01:16, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
