It looks like this article has been waiting for a while, so I'll go ahead and get started on it. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 06:16, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
- It is reasonably well written.
- a (prose, spelling, and grammar): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
- Parke's name is used a lot; it might help readability to replace some instances with "he" or "him".
- It might be confusing to have Churchill's name change with his title. Would it be possible to just refer to him as "Churchill" or "Marlborough" and remove the note?
- Is there a reason why his attempted political career in England is listed under his personal life instead of chronologically in "Early life"?
Upon learning of his autocratic rule in the Leeward Islands prior to his murder, English government officials quietly supported Douglas' decision not to pursue charges against Parke's murderers
– This should immediately follow the sentence about deciding not to pursue charges. The illegitimate Lucy
– This wording seems strange. Perhaps "Lucy, his illegitimate daughter," or something like that.came to a head
– Avoid idioms.
- a (prose, spelling, and grammar): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
- It is factually accurate and verifiable.
- a (reference section): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR): d (copyvio and plagiarism):
- Well-organized bibliography, all sources are books that appear to be reliable. Only result on WP:EARWIG search was a 0.0% match. Unfortunately, I could not access the most used source (Falkner 2004). I was, however, able to check the article against several of its other sources (Clark, Falkner 2014, Fischer, Harris, McArver, O'Shaughnessy, Webb, and Zacek) to make up for this.
- Falkner 2014 presents the origin of his rank as a fact. Is there something in Falkner 2004 that suggests it should be attributed to the author rather than stated in wikivoice?
- Where in Falkner 2014 does it say that he
did make several attempts to acquire an officer's commission in the English Army while in Europe, though these were consistently rebuffed
- It's unclear what's supporting what with the Clark and Lockridge citations.
Best known for his military service in Europe
– According to whom?

- It is broad in its coverage.
- a (major aspects): b (focused):
- No excessive detail. Some aspects might need additional coverage.
Parke's nascent political career was rife with tensions as he engaged in several disputes and feuds with other politicians, eventually moving back to England in 1701.
– What sort of disputes and feuds? What did they disagree about, and how did it affect Parke's career?- Can more be said about Parke's
campaign to restore the rule of law to the region
? What measures did he take? I see one in Webb, in that he enlisted the support of Michael Ayon as provost marshal. - Falkner 2014 says
Parke abandoned his family in Virginia, going to live in London with his mistress
. Could more be said about this? - It might be significant to mention that Parke was the only English colonial governor to ever be assassinated.
- No excessive detail. Some aspects might need additional coverage.
- a (major aspects): b (focused):
- It follows the neutral point of view policy.
- Fair representation without bias:
- Article complies with NPOV.

- Both images are appropriate and in the public domain. The infobox image should have a caption that names the subject, artist, and year of production.

- Overall: The article is pretty good overall. There are just a few things that need to be checked and a few things that could be added. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 07:30, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
