Image

edit

The image is not a magazine cover. It is an advertisement of a swimsuit by 'Bambu Swimwear', hair by 'Mandy Lyons', etc. and as such is fair use. This is entirely consistent with copyright belonging to SI. Please explain the rationale before the reversal. Mhym 15:36, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Rationale for removal of image Image:DSarahyba.jpg from the article Daniella Sarahyba is:
  1. The image Image:DSarahyba.jpg is an "advertisement of a swimsuit".
  2. Promotional images can only be used "to illustrate the work or product in question".
  3. Daniella Sarahyba is not the "product in question" (a specif brand of swimsuit is) nor the "work" itself.
Conclusion: The image Image:DSarahyba.jpg can't be used on the Daniella Sarahyba article.
Mhym, please, don't take me wrong. I understand and apreciate yout good will and williness to help building Wikipedia. The point here is that Fair use is not a feature we attribute to an image. It's a feature we attribute to the use of an image. And, in this case, it does not apply. Best regards, --Abu Badali 17:40, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Are you sure she was born in '84? I've seen it as '86 in a few places. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.190.155.199 (talkcontribs) 03:09, March 29, 2007

The [Fashion Model Directory] states her ethnicity as Brazilian/Spanish/Lebanese. Additional information like exact height and weight is also available on the page.--Kitrus 00:58, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have protected the page for a week to give the editors of this page time to sort out their argument about ethnicity. I'm not personally very impressed with the source provided so have removed the last edit under BLP concerns and because it was a 4th revert. I suggest that if the information is reliable, alternative sources can be provided. Please let me know on my talk page if you resolve the dispute before the protection expires. I fully agree with Spartaz Humbug!'s comments [2] that this information is not from a reliable source and should be removed. However, the lead still states she's Brazilian... Valrith 11:05, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
