Talk:Death row

Why is this article so US-centric?

edit

If the highest rates of execution (and death row inmates) are in countries like Saudi Arabia, and the death penalty exists in large countries like Japan, China and India, then why on Earth does this article so nonchalantly segue into "In the United States..." in the third sentence? Is this another case of ignorant US-centrism, or is there a reason for this? Zilch-nada (talk) 11:13, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

See the below merge proposal, the "condemn cell" seems to be the South Asian version of a death row. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:12, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

merge Condemn cell here?

edit

I tbhink this makes sense for a number of reasons. A condemn cell is basically another version of a death row, so they are cloesely related topics. Also, the article on the condemn cell is a bit thin on sources that are actually about the condemn cell itself, most of them are simply definitions, or articles about people who have been cleared of a crime still being locked up. There is some salvageable content however, and I think ti only makes sense to merge it to this article. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:11, 20 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Support. They're very closely related topics; a condemned cell is part of a death row. I recommend you WP:BEBOLD and do it. SilverStar54 (talk) 05:55, 1 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
