Delhi Republic Day parade → Indian Republic Day parade – The main parade of the nation always takes place at its' capital. Hence, It is [strongly supported and] suggested by me that page should be renamed. Another suggested name can be "Republic Day parade (India)" or "Republic Day parade of India". Utkarsh555 (talk) 15:23, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Nsn2635 If i would be so, then I'll be glad to do it, if nobody has ojbections. I could just do it now, but i think let's give it another day to discuss. I'll do it tomorrow, on 72th anniversay of [our] Republic Day! Utkarsh555 (talk) 03:27, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Nsn2635 alright, got it! (hey, can you please make sure to close this template discussion? that would be nice!)
- Have a nice day!

- Objections:
- There are Republic Day parades in every state and union territory capital, and this is Delhi's Republic Day parade. Delhi Police and other government bodies in Delhi take part in this parade. It would make sense to call this Indian Republic Day parade, if there was a separate state parade for Delhi.
- The sources always refer to this as 'The Republic Day parade' or 'The Republic Day parade in Delhi'. Not as 'Indian Republic Day Parade'.
- The Republic Day parades in every city are all Indian Republic Day parades, because they all celebrate the Indian Republic Day. The defining characteristic of this parade is that it is held in Delhi.
- It is but obvious that the capital city's parade will be the grandest, that doesn't mean that it loses it's association with the city.
- Thus, 'Delhi Republic Day parade' is the most appropriate name in keeping with Wikipedia's article title guidelines, because it is precise, and arguably the more natural and common name for the topic.

- @The Discoverer I find your 1st point to be little objected. See, we are talking about Articles in Wikipedia. I agree that other states too, have their own parades, but they are not made on Wikipedia. Hence, I suggest the changing of name. Utkarsh555 (talk) 04:27, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- Objections:
- A more fundamental objection - what is a "Repubic" and/or why would we change to a misspelling ? - Arjayay (talk) 17:58, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Arjayay the discussions wouldn't yield good, if not talked. Please observe my pleas. Utkarsh555 (talk) 12:40, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Arjayay ok, i corrected the spelling. Utkarsh555 (talk) 11:48, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support Republic Day parade (Delhi). It generally just seems to be referred to as the Republic Day parade. But it's not the only one in India. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:24, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Necrothesp yeah i mean, i wished for including the word "India", rather. Utkarsh555 (talk) 16:15, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- It's not called India Republic Day though, which is why our article is entitled Republic Day (India). -- Necrothesp (talk) 16:24, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Necrothesp @Arjayay @The Discoverer i am talking about the physical military/cultural parade guys, not the event! why you are confusing? Utkarsh555 (talk) 05:39, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- Are you suggesting that this article should not just cover the Delhi parade but all such parades throughout India? There is certainly scope for a wider article, but this article only covers the Delhi parade. -- Necrothesp (talk) 08:16, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Necrothesp if it goes that way, then that's what i mean. Yes. tell me, other wikipedia pages like "Islamabad Republic Day parade" or the "Paris Republic Day parade" exist? think and observe from a layman's point of view, who is not a technical geek, and doesn't understands too much of terms as used often. it would seek a simple, straight to the point article, atleast. Utkarsh555 (talk) 09:22, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Necrothesp also if there exists any "Kolkata Republic Day parade" or "Bangalore Republic Day parade", then please do end this dicussion. See, i just want to make my point here, rightly, straight-forward: rename it to either "Republic Day parade of India / Republic day parade (India)" or "Indian Republic Day parade". That's it, no fuss, no sugar coat.
- Rest lies on you all. Utkarsh555 (talk) 11:46, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
