Denali Park, Alaska (census-designated place) → Denali Park (CDP), Alaska – This article was moved to its present title in accordance with the Census Bureau changing the CDP's name. An undisambiguated title would not work on two fronts. First, in most people's eyes, "Denali Park, Alaska" would likely refer to Denali National Park and Preserve rather than the CDP. The CDP contains a small portion of the park surrounding its main entrance, but the majority of its permanent population and other human activity is centered on privately-owned lands along the George Parks Highway east of the park boundaries. Second, the area north of the park entrance, where most of that activity occurs, is colloquially known as "Glitter Gulch". While that term has received coverage from reliable sources (Frommer's, Anchorage Daily News, Fairbanks Daily News-Miner), "Glitter Gulch" is a dab page and this is clearly not a primary topic for that title. That leaves us with options for parenthetical disambiguation. For one, WP:ATDAB suggests that parenthetical disambiguation be kept as short and sweet as possible. For another, a title search suggests that the present title falls outside of accepted convention. A search for the present title's naming convention turned up two articles, Jefferson, West Virginia and Thorncreek Township, Whitley County, Indiana, both of which were previously at similar titles before being moved to undisambiguated titles. OTOH, a search for the target title's naming convention turned up scores, if not hundreds, of simliar titles. The URL syntax made a direct link difficult, but the search engine has a intitle search option, so direct links shouldn't be necessary. - Support. This is standard disambiguation for US CDPs. Compare 578 pages of the form "NAME (CDP), STATE" to 1 page (this one) of the form "NAME, STATE (census-designated-place). Ruбlov (talk • contribs) 13:10, 9 April 2022 (UTC)
