District line extension to Battersea and onto Waterloo???

edit

This is going back about 15 years, but I seem to recall getting a leaflet in my mail slot (I live in Battersea) about extending the District Line from Earls Court to Battersea and onto Waterloo using existing tracks (I think they would have had to have added a spur from Earls Court to the tracks that connect Olympia to Clapham Junction). I can't find anything on it. Does anybody know anything about this? Any links? Are the tracks even the right width? I know there is a train service from Clapham Junction north across the Thames that uses a rarely-used section of track. Thanks in advance to anybody who knows. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.98.149.164 (talk) 09:46, 28 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

No, I haven't heard of this proposal but its unlikely to happen anyway with the focus being on the northern line extension to Battersea.--2.24.174.19 (talk) 14:15, 5 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
If they had done this, it would have been a relatively simple matter to put in a connection at the south end of West Brompton station. Other than that, the only necessary track changes would be to install a fourth (centre) rail between West Bromton and Waterloo for the LU traction return current, similar to that already in use between Gunnersbury and Richmond. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 16:00, 5 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

This thing: File:District_line_flag_box.svg

It says Disctrict! I suggest someone with svg editing tools fix it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.229.175.46 (talk) 01:55, 11 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

I have reverted the change which was made in Commons a few weeks ago. Thanks for pointing it out. --David Biddulph (talk) 02:13, 11 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
