Removed mention of COVID infection

edit

That someone had a case is not of particular interest in an encyclopaedic interest unless it has a specific notability to its infection, an index case, specific consequences of illness (death, stopped career, etc.) We don't do it for other communicable diseases, and its addition is such an example of now'ism because COVID infections are flavour of the month. In the next year millions of people are going to have had the disease, important people are going to die from this, so in an enduring encyclopaedia, let us not focus on the insignificant cases. — billinghurst sDrewth 10:26, 23 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

I think Mitchell's case has more long-lasting notability than most, since he was a teammate of Rudy Gobert. (And certainly, Rudy Gobert's case will go down in history as the impetus to suspend the NBA season.) I'm not sure how you would describe Mitchell's career without mentioning COVID-19. He was selected as an All-Star for the first time in 2019-20, but we don't explain why his season was cut short afterwards. Zagalejo^^^ 13:55, 26 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. The information in the article is supported by a published source. We would need another source to clarify or change this information. ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 00:44, 16 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Sebbro106: Based on the addition of source links above, still   Not done: Elmsford is in Westchester County, so as far as I can tell both sources are accurate but the existing source in the article (Deseret News) is more specific. While it would still be true, the requested change would give less information. If Elmsford is inaccurate, we would need a source that provides different information. I don't see Phelps Memorial Hospital mentioned in any source that has been provided. ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 15:37, 28 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please remove Cleveland charge from career history as he never played a game for them it was simply following an injury for conditioning. Plenty of star players have done the same but not actually play a game. Paul456389 (talk) 01:06, 10 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
