Another interesting reference
editThere is an interesting ref here: http://invisiblecinema.typepad.com/invisible_cinema/2006/03/index.html Aerodynamics of the Hovering Hummingbird: Science, Cinema, and Ways of Seeing Saturday, April 29, 8 pm at Millennium Film Workshop Inspired by Warrick's Nature 453 (2005) paper they created their our own "experiment to investigate the cross-pollination of scientific visualization and poetic document." Removal of content
edit24.21.109.163, why are you removing information about his work on the radio tracking studies field crew on the Exxon Valdez oil spill? Banaticus (talk) 07:25, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- In the ref cited, he was only mentioned in a "thanks" section, re: the ground crew. I went ahead and cited his work on the Valdez using the short NASA bio. The mention in the study is irrelevant. This was part of the attempt in 2009 to rescue the article from deletion, which appears to have resulted in shoehorning in as many Internet mentions of Mr. Warrick as possible. It's unfortunate that his attempts at trying to fix the article about himself were rather bitey. Per WP:BLPEDIT (especially the part "When an anonymous editor blanks all or part of a BLP, this might be the subject attempting to remove problematic material. Edits like this by subjects should not be treated as vandalism; instead, the subject should be invited to explain their concerns."), the attempts to improve matters should have been handled a bit more tactfully, especially because the article was dreadful. My apologies to everyone who worked on it, but that's the truth. Unfortunately, I failed to notice that the cleanup tag I added got removed after the AfD, even though passing AfD does not resolve the need for clean up. Anyway, I've attempted to clean up the inaccuracies and poor citation formatting. I really wanted to remove the notability tag as well, but I still don't think this meets WP:PROF (which certainly is no reflection on the importance of his work so far). I hope Mr. Warrick will contact us on this page if he has any more concerns. Cheers, Valfontis (talk) 16:35, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
