Article focus
editCould someone familiar with the topic clarify the focus of the article and rename it appropriately? This has a serious overlap with Driving under the influence, which mainly (but not exclusively) focuses on drunk driving. Perhaps this could be renamed "Characteristics of drunk drivers" or something, and the Implied consent section moved to the DUI page? 93 15:40, 30 June 2017 (UTC)
Multiple Articles (combine?)
editThere is considerable overlap between this Drunk drivers page and Driving under the influence. The Driving under the influence page does have cross-references at the beginning, but there seems to be more overlap than sub-topic issues here. Is there a more efficient way to organise this? (Perhaps I could do this on my cell phone while driving.) Unitacx (talk) 18:13, 2 June 2018 (UTC)
- I totally agree. The overlap between this and the large section dealing with drunk driving at Driving under the influence is almost 100%. The two could and should be combined. JimKaatFan (talk) 20:07, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: page moved to Drunk driving, instead of proposed Drunk driver. (closed by non-admin page mover) —Nnadigoodluck███ 08:41, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
Drunk drivers → Drunk driver – Page might be better using singular form instead of plural Garnarblarnar (talk) 05:30, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
- How about moving this page to "Drunk driving" (redirects here, was temporarily redirected to the less specific Driving under the influence due to annoyance with describing the act vs describing the person doing it). The article is about the act and not about the persons (the section "Characteristics of drunk drivers" can apply to either), and having a title from the act is what you expect to see in an encyclopedia. – Thjarkur (talk) 08:35, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
- Agree, this should be moved to Drunk driving. HumanBodyPiloter5 (talk) 09:16, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

- I agree Drunk driving would be better still but otherwise support as proposed. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:15, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
- One possible concern with the "Drunk driving" title might be that the content is currently about the person and not the act (for example the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drunk_drivers#Characteristics_of_drunk_drivers section). There was a "Driving under the influence" page that might work at Drunk driving, but this page is about a somewhat different subject, and has a bit different content.
