explanation
editSome of the project's quality control volunteers have been very aggressive in applying {{cn}} tags to this article. The references actually answer some of the assertions those volunteers challenged. I have removed {{cn}}. As one of the first purpose built fireboats she had to have been one of the most powerful. And her "75 year working life" is also well documented in the existing references. Geo Swan (talk) 15:02, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
Coordinate error
edit{{geodata-check}}
The following coordinate fixes are needed for the Duwamish fireboat. The Duwamish has for some months been located at the old fuel dock in Fisherman's Terminal.
I believe the coordinates should be (from Google Maps "What's Here" feature): 47.65829,-122.37793

- That may well be, but I think we'd need a mention in a reliable source to move the coordinates there. The first paragraph of this article suggests that, as of a month ago, the boat was moored outside the Museum of History and Industry, somewhere in the neighborhood of 47°37′39″N 122°20′12″W / 47.6276°N 122.3366°W. Are either the location you've given or the museum one intended to be the boat's permanent mooring? Without a reliable source to confirm a permanent move, I'm inclined to leave the coordinates as they are for now; but I'll leave this request open in case anyone else feels differently (or is better than I at finding a source). - I concur (though perhaps not for the same exact reasons). Frankly, I think the existing coordinates should probably be removed from the article until the ship's "permanent" berth can be determined, but they're the last ones for which we have a RS. My guess is that it will be at that museum, and indeed you can see the ship there in some (but not all) satellite views (if you zoom in and then rotate the Bing bird's eye view, it's there in some positions on the rotation and not on others; the ship identified as the Duwamish in Wikimapia at the museum isn't the Duwamish, though I suspect that it was at the time the rectangle was drawn), but you can also see it in other satellite views (e.g. Acme) at the location Wiegandd suggests. The museum's website does not mention the ship. We just need to wait until we can document it properly. Regards, TransporterMan (TALK) 15:52, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
- Declined Found a very recent source saying that the ship is permanently moored at the the location given by Deor. — TransporterMan (TALK) 17:09, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
