A student of Althusser, Gorin worked with Godard as confident and advisor (Politkommissar?) on La Chinoise (1967) and La Gai Savoir (1966), , pre-D.V. nd Tout Va Bien and Letter to Jane were already outside this D.V. designation. Jean-Pierre Gorin went to San Diego in 1975.
His american films are very different from DV. Jean-Luc Godard, in a talk to students at Yale at the hight of 60s rebellion actually calls himself a Marxist- Leninist.
