editThe data in the "Overview" section is from 10 years ago and that whole section should probably be deleted or at least updated to reflect the current economic situation in the political context in Bulgaria --cassini83 16:41, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Page Refresh
editThis page really needs fresher reports on the economic situation. An analysis of Bulgaria's economy dependence on the European economy is really necessary. I guess we could move the economic history of 1989-1997 in a new article and only leave a summary of the reforms here. It is even time to write a historical-type article about the IMF's work in the country, as it is soon going to be only a thing from the past. Anyway, I guess I should find some time to do this. If there is here, however, an economics student from a Bulgarian university, I would appreciate highly if (s)he contacts me on my talk page. --Cryout 01:19, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
Bulgarian property market
editI believe that this article should mention bulgarias booming property market.
I know a few people that have sold everything they own in the uk and have moved the whole family out to bulgaria due to the cheap property.I intend to leave the uk also within a year for bulgaria.
Total electricity production capacity of Bulgaria
editDoes anybody know the total installed capacity in the country? How much will Belene's 2MW will be relative to that? THanks --Cryout (talk) 20:41, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Consider Bulgarians are exporting electricity to neighbor country such as Greece, Macedonia, Romania and Turkey. they have plenty of elets, primarily due to the good working nuclear station, and they are building the second and after finished, the first nuclear station will go through a reconstruction, change the engine or something like that. the total capacity is 38.07 billion kW·h. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.73.78.62 (talk) 09:16, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Streamlining this page
editTo make this page more readable, and inviting for expansion, I will streamline its structure. I will log the major changes here, so they can be discussed. Thank you for your cooperation. --Cryout (talk) 18:53, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- Move statistics to their own page (keep only key tables and graphs here)
- Replace map of EU membership with an EU map with an economic indicator
- Update numbers with Q3'2008 figures, where available
- Update description of current economic situation
History section
editHow come history section starts with 1944, isn't here anyone informed about Bulgarian economy before that, something about trade routes during First Bulgarian Empire, economy of Second Bulgarian Empire, Knjazhestvo Bulgaria? --Aleksd (talk) 16:40, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
Overoptimistic tone
editI find this boasting in the introduction repulsive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.97.174.5 (talk) 22:23, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

- I agree the tone should be changed, it is not conform with wikipedias POV standards.Meatsgains (talk) 19:02, 7 November 2011 (UTC)
Overpessimistic tone
editI find this depressing tone in the History section repulsive. :)) And not only in this pasage. Are we paying some sort of emotional reparations because of being before part to Comecon? --Aleksd (talk) 08:26, 23 May 2014 (UTC)
Neutral tone
editMaybe one day. Who knows. --Aleksd (talk) 08:26, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

Adding a video synopsis
editI created a video synopsis, following this example. However, the video link "File:Wikipedia-VideoWiki-Economy of Bulgaria.webm" doesn't seem to work. Does anyone know why? Cryout 20:15, 6 May 2019 (UTC)
Waste import
editThe absolute value of tons of waste annualty imported has still to be sourced in the current WP article. europeandatajournalism.eu+ affirms it increased of more than five times between 2010 and 2017. [https://www.dw.com/en/my-europe-illegal-garbage-dumps-reflect-eus-east-west-divide/a-52480168 Dw.com tells "over the past 10 years, rubbish imports to Bulgaria have risen twentyfold". So different numbers depend on triangulations of import/export between Romania and Bulgaria.
In Bulgaria, the business is linked to EU contributions for green energy which are destinated for waste threatment and cogeneration under a less severe regime of public enviromental controls. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.223.69.34 (talk) 19:09, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
