Piskor Dead? (TBA)

edit

Piskor is supposed dead by suicide on Apr 1; Family has not put out a statement. Possibly an april fool's joke made in bad taste? GeminiJesterApogee (talk) 20:53, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

He posted a suicide note this morning and a few people are talking about him in the past tense as of a few minutes ago, but nothing is officially confirmed yet 173.226.56.14 (talk) 21:06, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
It seems to be true. https://twitter.com/CTropes/status/1774891424364040250 Deadpool2099x2 (talk) 21:29, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ed Piskor has been confirmed dead due to suicide following allegations of sexual misconduct. He is confirmed by Ethan Van Sciver that he also released a suicide note naming the people he blames for his suicide. Chris from Comic Tropes confirmed the death through a message from Piskor's family. Robinsnest245 (talk) 21:08, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Ed Piskor left a suicide note posted to his Facebook account on April 1st, 2024 at 8:01 AM EST with the caption "I’m helpless against a mob of this magnitude. Please share my side of things. Sayonara." the link to the note is: [1] Robinsnest245 (talk) 21:20, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

That is not a specific edit request of what you wish to see added where, and it is likely best for us to wait until there are reliable sources to use on the whole matter. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 21:26, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

BioGeek source

edit

So I was watching the Hip Hop Family Tree article when I learned of his suicide through someone posting a BioGeek reference without any justification.[1] I reverted it but the source is worth checking out; there doesn't seem to be any discussion of BioGeek on Wikipedia yet regarding its reliability, so is anyone willing go over this? Rest in peace for Piskor, by the way. Carlinal (talk) 00:47, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

No sign of any editorial staff, and some of the writing carries the scent of AI ("41 was the age that he was.") No visible reason to treat this as a reliable source. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 04:13, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
And looking at the contributor who added that, he has made two edits on Wikipedia, both of which were adding BioGeeK stories as references, both of which included writers names that are not to be found on the article. So, the possibility of WP:REFSPAM should be considered. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 04:19, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, same source for two people that recently died. Little suspicious, honestly. Carlinal (talk) 04:34, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
My suspicions are confirmed: Coindecimal3232's only edits are just that, BioGeek articles on deaths with no appropriate spot. They seem to be a promotional account. Could someone file an appropriate response or something? Carlinal (talk) 06:10, 3 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

The name is public information with multiple cited sources. NJZombie (talk) 17:26, 8 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I agree, per WP:BLP and WP:ISNOT I don't think it's appropriate to name her in the article. She is not otherwise notable so it doesn't really add anything. Is there a good reason to keep it? Thesixthstaff (talk) 10:42, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I’d agree had the name of the accusers been leaked and not made publicly by the accusers themselves. Additionally, the cited sources used within the article use the names as well. NJZombie (talk) 15:42, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

2006 interviews

Wanted to ask about the reliability of two interviews from 2006 that were on the external links section for a long while, before a justly removal. Any value in Ninth Art and Comics Nexus? Carlinal (talk) 20:18, 8 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
