Talk:Edmond Levy (judge)
This page was proposed for deletion by Ki imanu kel (talk · contribs) on 21 December 2010 with the comment: Mainly notable for role in Immanuel Beit Yaakov controversy and amply covered there. It was contested by געגאנגען (talk · contribs) on 21 December 2010 with the comment: no real reason for deleting |
timestamp deleted
editNo idea why this page isn't legit. He is a key player in Israel politics in a whole bunch of issues other then the Emmanuel case (I plan to expand this page in the future, especially about his judicial activism, his "hitnatkut" ruling, etc.).געגאנגען (talk) 19:07, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
- I came across this page in my regular check of Category:Proposed deletions needing attention and noted that the person who nominated this page for deletion did something that resulted in the proposed deletion tag not having a timestamp to indicate when the tag was placed. All I did was place a timestamp to show when the tag was placed, so that anyone coming across this article knows when the 7-day proposed deletion period was set to expire. That being said, I have just taken a closer look at the article and while I still see some problems, I am convinced this person meets the notability guidelines for inclusion at WP:POLITICIAN.
- You did violate policy here, however. You originally created this article at Admund Levi and copied and pasted the content here. In cases like this, the move function must be used in order to retain the page history for copyright reasons. I will request that an administrator merge the page histories of Admund Levi and Edmund Levi. In the meantime, this article will have a speedy deletion tag on it. Do not delete it. It serves to notify administrators that a page history merge is needed, and the article will only be deleted momentarily while the admin does what he/she needs to do. —KuyaBriBriTalk 19:57, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for explaining. I'm really new to this Wikipedia editing world. Got a lot to learn...געגאנגען (talk) 22:37, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
the name is "Edmond" - not "Edmund"
editYou should change the title of the article - his name is Edmond with an "o" (check his official web page in the supreme court website) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.110.5.236 (talk) 19:44, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Edmund Levy → Edmond Levy – move over redirect, Edmond is used consistently in the article Paul foord (talk) 00:26, 13 April 2017 (UTC) Paul foord (talk) 00:26, 13 April 2017 (UTC)
- Surely you mean Edmond Levy, which would be consistent with the article text and with the title of Levy Report? I could support that. And please do not do moves like this – first, you moved it to a wrong title, and second, per WP:TWODABS we do not necessarily have disambiguation pages for two articles. - Comment: moving to Edmond Levy is not possible unless we decide the dab page is unnecessary. Edmond Levy (judge) is possible however. Is there a primary topic for this name? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 15:32, 19 April 2017 (UTC)
- I don't think the dab page is necessary – French historian is Edmond Lévy, with an accent, and hatnotes would do the job just fine per WP:SMALLDETAILS.
However, there is at least another notable Edmond Levy, but apparently without an article yet. Edmond A. Levy is an Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker (A Year Toward Tomorrow). So I think Edmond Levy (judge) would probably be the best solution in the long run. No such user (talk) 09:50, 20 April 2017 (UTC)- I updated the dab page with the filmmaker entry.
