To add to this article (in order to help make it more properly encyclopedic): the fact that the local Hispanic community gave Higgins the nickname of "La Gringa" (implying that, although she is not of Hispanic heritage, she was nevertheless accepted by that community as someone who had their interests at heart). ~2025-31208-44 (talk) 00:04, 11 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
@~2025-31208-44 Yes, this would be appropriate as it is well-reported. Often included in pre-election and post-election news profiles of her career. Acceptable to include, so long as an effort is made to make it clear that the nickname is meant to be affectionate/inoffensive towards her, as “Gringa” is also a term that can also be used as a pejorative or insult.
