Hey I have never made one of these before ,so I have no clue if this the correct way to do it. It says that Eli is on the Buffalo Bills which is incorrect it should still say he is on the Giants roster. Thanks!

Old picture from 2006
editWe are using a picture from 2006. There are plenty recent ones from 2012 on Wikimedia and my edit with the updated photo was reversed. Just because it's a headshot doesn't mean we should be using a 10+ year old photo. Very ridiculous edit. Trs2795 (talk) 05:22, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
- Has Eli had plastic surgery any time in the last 10 years? Lizard (talk) 05:27, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
Very possible that he did. But seriously, look at other top NFL qbs... Aaron Rodgers for example has a zoomed in picture of him running. I mean if we want we can zoom this picture in maybe? Very silly to have a photo from 10 years ago of him when every other NFL QB has updated pictures. Trs2795 (talk) 05:48, 15 November 2016 (UTC)
- This image is relatively low resolution, so zooming wouldn't be ideal. We could try requesting someone take one at an upcoming game. Wikipedia's strict image use guidelines make it very hard to find images any other way beside taking one ourself. Lizard (talk) 06:37, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

Excel Sports Management is Eli Manning's Marketing/PR representation Agency. We are asking for the following requests: • Under other ventures, please delete his spokesman and endorsement details as public announcement breaches contract confidentiality and inter-agency agreements (See 124: He is a spokesman for Citizen Watch Co.,[123][125] Toyota of New Jersey, and Reebok.[123] He reportedly received several more endorsement offers after reaching Super Bowl XLII.[124]) • Under Personal Life please edit [128] making it "McGrew Studied fashion in New York City" (not a current endeavor). • In addition please add: Eli’s dedication and commitment extends to his life off the field, as he lends his time to numerous charitable efforts including Tackle Kids Cancer, March of Dimes, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Wounded Warriors, Operation Smile, The Robin Hood Foundation and American Red Cross. Eli has additionally raised millions for The Eli Manning Children’s Clinics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children. His selfless character and leadership landed him as a Finalist for the 2015 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. [1] ExcelSportsManagement (talk) 20:57, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

Not done for reasons that should be obvious:
- The sponsorship coverage is sourced, if the issue is that he is no longer a sponsor for the companies mentioned, that can be rewritten accordingly, rather than deleted.
- Similarly, there is no good reason to remove mention of his education, as long as the information is accurate.
- Adding spam language such as "dedication and commitment," isn't going to fly. See Wikipedia:Neutral point of view for more information about neutral points of view. The text also appears to be borrowed from a Manning bio on the internet, so that won't work either. And, finally, have a look at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Incomplete date on 1st reference
editThe "retrieved" date for the first reference is listed as "201-10-14". It's clearly incorrect, but I don't know what it should be, as I did not make the edit. Thanks. Lean Beasties (talk) 19:48, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
- No big deal, the retrieved date is just the date that the editor went to the website. If the ref isn't a dead link you can change it to today's date. Lizard (talk) 20:25, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Eli Manning
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Eli Manning's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "glog":
- From Larry Fitzgerald: "Larry Fitzgerald Career Game Log - Pro-Football-Reference.com". Pro-Football-Reference.com.
- From Mark Ingram II: "Mark Ingram Career Game Log". Pro-Football-Reference.com.

- From Jared Goff: "Jared Goff Career Game Log". Pro-Football-Reference.com.
- From Derrick Henry: "Derrick Henry 2016 Game Log". Pro-Football-Reference.com. Retrieved February 18, 2018.
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 06:00, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
Mistake in "professional career"
editI noticed a mistake regarding the draft picks the Chargers got back for Manning. It should be "and a 2004 third-round pick, used to select placekicker Nate Kaeding, a 2005 first round pick, used to select linebacker Shawne Merriman, and a 2005 fifth round pick, which was later traded, to the Chargers for Manning." 2600:6C63:6E7F:B480:26:AF2A:B2B:ACFC (talk) 20:12, 17 September 2019 (UTC)

- Since none of my suggestions were headed to and the nominator has barley edited the article, I am quick failing this. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 20:53, 14 March 2020 (UTC)
Early life
edit- I suggest adding the information about his dad and brother in the early life section rather than personal life. Is there any way to expand on the information in early life? Instead of starting right at high school maybe expand a bit for his younger years.
- While interviews are not preferred I think this is fine since the information is before the interview
- Is there a better source than this one for his commitment? Maybe one that goes into more detail? Try Wikipedia:List of online newspaper archives.
College career
edit- Can the intro to the college career be expanded? What were the views of him coming in? Perhaps expand comment about marketing degree and GPA. Was he on the honour roll?
- per this ref he was on the Dean's Honor Roll.
- Move the fraternity to college career rather than personal life
- Preferably a source that explicitly states stats than this one.
- I suggest incorporating the awards into paragraphs to expand on his college career rather than list them
- Second Team All-American needs a reference
2000 season
edit- I think you can merge the first two sentence together. The sentence "Manning saw little playing time behind Miller" seems choppy by itself.
2001 season
edit- Preferably a source that explicitly states stats his first game than a box score like this one. I am sure there are article out there that discuss this.
- Most of the sources seem to be stats. If he had such a successful year there should be articles about it (rather than synthesizing sources).
2003 season
edit- The sentence "He was invited to play in the 2004 Senior Bowl, but chose not to play" is not properly sourced. The reference does not mention the Senior Bowl.
Professional
edit- This reference does not say he refused to play for the Chargers if drafted by them. It says "I made up my mind, I talked to my dad about it, talked to [agent] Tom Condon about it. We had this plan to kind of say, we’ll tell San Diego not to draft you and hopefully they won’t draft you." This sounds more like he wished they wouldn't draft him but not such strong language as used in the article. Please find a reference that explicitly states he would not play for them.
- There is for sure a reference about his first contract being signed, one does not need to use this reference
- Please find a reference for the trade that is not the reference above, such as this one.
