editI've added a link to the synopsis for Elizabethtown at moviecheat.com. This is my site, it's pure content; I've checked the rules and it shouldn't be a problem to add this link as long as it's relevant and informative. I think it absolutely is; anyone who wants a more detailed look at this movie will find it useful. But if anyone truly has a problem, feel free to revert.Rasi2290
Since this film is so music-centric, could someone compile a list of all the songs featured in the film (especially the ones not on the soundtrack)?--Adoniscik 19:52, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
I'd like to say this: Elizabethtown sucked all sorts of theme-abandoning balls. Man, I wish I could come up with a much less vulgar way of putting it, but it truly did suck. I thought it'd be informative to vent on its discussion page. Thank you, good night. --Machty 04:14, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- I think you'd be better off on imdb's message boards. BabuBhatt 04:18, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
Rachel O
editThe cast section lists "Rachel O" as "Hot Porn Star". I don't recall any porn stars in this (woeful) film. She's not listed in the IMDB cast list, and a Google search for "rachel o" + "elizabethtown" comes up with nothing relevant. Thus, I'm removing the name from the cast list. Trailer music
editDoes anyone know the instrumental piece in the trailer? Chris 09:53, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
Summary
editCould a better plot outline be put up. The Trivia section is longer. And more informative. Basejumper 21:08, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'm a fan of shorter plot outlines, and I think this one sums up the movie fairly well. I did get rid of the Trivia section though, and created a new one called "Production Notes" with the relevant contents. Seaphoto 01:46, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
Page Rewrite?
editAre there any interested editors for this page rewrite? Looking to get this done quick. Miopportunity (talk) 03:36, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
Needs a spoiler warning!
editThe end of the movie (everything from the CD onward, at least) should be behind a spoiler warning. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.215.103.78 (talk) 11:53, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- No such thing exists, considering the fact that this is an encyclopedia. See Wikipedia's Spoiler Warning for more information. ocrasaroon (talk) 05:33, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Kansas/Arkansas
editThis article is tagged as being shot in Kansas, but I see no mention of that in the article, however it was shot in Arkansas (that is untagged). I don't know how to do this stuff so I thought I'd leave it up to someone else. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.24.200.141 (talk) 19:31, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
Magic realism? and stalker behaviour
editThe film seems to contain some surreal elements -- not mentioned in the article. How long does it take to fly from Oregon to Louisville? About 4 hours? How long does it take to fly from Louisville to Hawaii -- and back? Are there any direct flights from Louisville to Hawaii? About 10-12 hours? Yet, Claire tells the hero she is flying to Hawaii, which, with some required by regulation shut-eye in Hawaii, is going to keep her from the hero for a good 30-36 hours, and yet she shows up later that day.
Claire told our hero she had a boyfriend. It seems clear this is a fib. Combined with her unexpected appearances, and insistence that he take her phone number, she engaged in classic stalker behaviour. I read some reviews that described her as engaging in "almost stalker behaviour". How much coverage does the stalker or stalker-like behaviour merit? Geo Swan (talk) 16:10, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
Not Elizabethtown College/
editRight up there, the second paragraph in the article consists of the statement "Despite the name, the movie has no relation with Elizabethtown College." That is crazy. Are there so many looking for information about Elizabethtown College that they might get confused about this movie?
Instead of saying what it is not, the article should say what it is. Otherwise it should include a statement that it has no connection with either Elizabethtown, PA, Elizabethtown, NC. and so on until each of the other (at least) 8 Elizabethtowns and the one in Budapest have been given a reprieve. No, I'm revising it to say what it is, not what it is not.2602:304:AE26:9EF9:1DD7:2EA6:8ABB:1E04 (talk) 23:53, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
