Which Emotiv?

edit

There may be more than one Emotiv company. Even Newsweek has problems with this.[1].

  • "Emotiv Systems" - as described in Wired in 2012 as a San Francisco based company. [2]. Dropped out of the California Secretary of State's corporation listing. Was at 1745 SUTTER STREET, San Francisco.
  • "Emotiv" - https://emotiv.com - apparently active. At 490 POST STREET, SUITE 824, San Francisco.

Both seem to be doing roughly the same thing, and Tan Le is associated with both. There should be some corporate event associated with this. Bankruptcy? Reorganization? Buyout? Founders had falling out? TechieMe (talk · contribs) seems to be concerned about this, but hasn't provided any useful references. John Nagle (talk) 19:15, 8 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Let's not be dishonest (no speculations, but only stating facts supported by concrete evidences) and use unambiguous language herein ("seem" "may" "appear" etc. should not be utilised when there are verifiable facts):

(1) There're no such things as "There may be more than one Emotiv company": there're 2 distinc legal entities "Emotiv" and "Emotiv Systems" both of which Tan Le has associated with;

(2) However, whilst Nam Do was involved in "Emotiv Systems" he has no role whatsoever in "Emotiv": "Emotiv" is currently active and "Emotiv Systems" has no longer existed, and these are 2 undeniable facts which can be verified by searching Business Entity at California Secretary of State http://kepler.sos.ca.gov ;

(3) Speculations such as "There should be some corporate event associated with this" and "Bankruptcy? Reorganization? Buyout? Founders had falling out?" are not facts and of no use since they are internal affairs of the companies requiring insiders' knowledge ;

(4) Drawing a clear distinction between "Emotiv" and "Emotiv Systems" is vitally important since Nam Do is a serial liar who has deliberately been using the terms "Emotiv" and "Emotiv Systems" interchangeably to con investors' money out of them into the fraud scheme SeeSpace with almost 1.400 victims affected globally from the U.S. to Europe: Nam Do has stated on https://www.fundable.com/seespace-inair-staples that "The Startup Mastermind Nam Do is serial entrepreneur with a proven track record of successful startup experience. He is the co-founder of Emotiv Systems, a world leading brain-computer interface company that raised $1.6MM on Kickstarter last year" . But when clicking "Emotiv Systems" it redirects readers straight to the website of Emotiv https://emotiv.com/ of which Nam Do has been fraudulently claiming on LinkedIn that he'd been a Co-founder & CEO for more than 9 years from December 2003 to March 2013 https://www.linkedin.com/in/nam-do-b6b9974 More information on the fraud scheme SeeSpace can be found on https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2128859975/inair-the-worlds-1st-augmented-television/comments

(5) I'm no longer interested in editing this page because there are so many fraudulent activities committed by Nam Do that I had exposed on the "External links" section but has been removed by other editors/contributors who label them as "defamatory" - then had me "blocked" for telling the truth. It is clear that some "editors/contributors" here in Wikipedia have no understanding whatsoever about Truth vs. Defamation - a case in point: the recently published Panama Papers is a "defamation" of the shady characters involved ? What I'm more interested is preventing more victims from falling prey to Nam Do's lies and scams: after defrauding investors and supporters/buyers via fraud scheme SeeSpace, Nam Do has fled from San Francisco to Hanoi in order to evade the US and other international authorities on one hand and to set up new scheme on the other hand. One of many nasty tricks that Nam Do has been playing https://www.facebook.com/nam.ster.3/about is to use the terms "Emotiv" and "Emotiv Systems" interchangeably and to link "Emotiv Systems" with the website of Emotiv https://emotiv.com/ TechieMe (talk) 03:49, 14 April 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by TechieMe (talkcontribs) 06:03, 12 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Nothing above references a WP:RS reliable source. Unsubstantiated allegations will get you nowhere. That's why you're not getting anywhere on Wikipedia. You may be right. But your claims are not verifiable by others. Please read WP:V. What we can report, though, is that there were lots of announcements from the companies in the 2003-2009 period, and then we can report on the product reviews. Thanks. Reply by TechieMe to John Nagle: Having previously tried to be as much ambiguous as possible about the ownership of Emotiv vs. that of Emotiv Systems in order to give Wikipedia's readers "the benefits of the doubt", you've again and again made me laugh John Nagal: "Nothing above references a WP:RS reliable source.Unsubstantiated allegations". Hahaha! Go and verify an "unreliable source" such as the Business Entity Registry of the California Secretary of State http://kepler.sos.ca.gov which reveals Emotiv Systems has no longer existed. Then go and verify another "unreliable source" such as AngelList https://angel.co/seespace to see how much money Nam Do's fraud scheme SeeSpace has been able to raise from the public. Then go and read the comments in another "unreliable source" such as Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2128859975/inair-the-worlds-1st-augmented-television/comments to see the horrifying truth about fraud scheme SeeSpace and its faulty electric product InAiR affecting almost 1.400 consumers globally. Then go and verify http://www.seespace.co/company.html to see if Nam Do's fraud scheme SeeSpace provides any address or phone number on its website. Last but not least: go and verify the "unreliable source" of Business Entity Registry of the California Secretary of State http://kepler.sos.ca.gov to see if SeeSpace is a fake & unregistered company. Then show Wikipedia's readers your alternative "reliable researches". Otherwise, block me gain if you and your associates want to TechieMe (talk) 03:49, 14 April 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by TechieMe (talkcontribs) 06:54, 12 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

TechieMe: Nobody have had me blocked again yet? Below are a few more tricks of con-man, total fake & total fraud Nam Do:

- Nam Do has been fraudulently claiming he's been a "frequent guest lecturer at Harvard Business School, HAAS Business School and Stanford University" http://www.inktalks.com/discover/31/a-headset-that-reads-your-mind-1 and a "regular keynote speaker at many high-profile international conferences around the world" https://www.linkedin.com/in/nam-do-b6b9974

- On his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/nam.ster.3/about Nam Do wrote "Chief Executive Officer at Emotiv Systems and Co-Founder/CEO at SeeSpace Past: Emotiv". But when you click "Emotiv" it takes you straight to the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/emotiv/?pnref=about.overview of Emotiv. Here, Nam Do wrote: "Studied Bachelor of Applied Science (Planning) at RMIT University". But searching on Google reveals such a qualification is non-existent. On the other hand, Nam Do has been claiming on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/nam-do-b6b9974 that he completed a 5-year Bachelor of Science in Strategic Planning at RMIT, but, again, such a qualification doesn't even exist, let alone it takes 5 year to complete.

- Nam Do inserts the web link of Emotiv http://www.emotiv.com on the bottom left corner of his page on xmedialab in which he has fraudulently claimed he'd been the Co-founder and CEO of Emotiv http://www.xmedialab.com/mentor/nam-do

- Nam Do has acted as if a product of Emotiv were his product by uploading onto his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152800867644046&set=a.10150894451704046.530481.762064045&type=3&theater THE EMOTIV INSIGHT https://emotiv.com/insight.php which has been a 2014 EDISON AWARD WINNER http://www.edisonawards.com/news/improve-your-brain-power-with-emotiv-insight/ and a 2015 AUSTRALIAN GOOD DESIGN SELECTIVE AWARD http://www.4design.com.au/latest_news/emotiv-insight-wins-2015-good-design-selective-award-in-the-most-contested-consumer-category/

So who want to suppress the horrifying truth about Nam Do, thereby to become accomplices helping him to defraud the U.S.citizens and citizens in other parts of the world: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2128859975/inair-the-worlds-1st-augmented-television/comments TechieMe (talk) 03:49, 14 April 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by TechieMe (talkcontribs) 05:12, 13 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

TechieMe: In spite of the verifiable facts that Emotiv and Emotiv Systems are 2 distinct legal entities, and that Emotiv Systems has ceased to exist as of 2010 whilst Emotiv has been established since 2011, other editors/contributors have deliberately mixed them up by giving references about both Emotiv and Emotiv Systems for both periods pre-2010 and post-2011. These misleading/deceptive conducts have served serial fraudster Nam Do extremely well and that's why Nam Do has on his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/nam.ster.3/about given the link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emotiv_Systems in order to redirect readers to the Wikipedia page containing the misleading/deceptive representation as said in the preceding sentence. Consumer use[edit] In an interview,[3] co-founder Tan Le spoke about her desire to 'democratise' EEG headsets in order to allow companies and individuals with limited budgets to experiment and innovate.

Examples of use:

In 2012 Chaotic Moon used the device for a mind controlled skateboard.[4]

In 2013 Smirnoff used the headsets to create a music track known as Project Mindtunes.[5] The track was created using the brainwaves of DJ Fresh and musicians with paralysis.

In 2014 Bwin used the headsets to visualise brain maps of individuals playing a game of Texas Hold'em in order to differentiate between the workings of an expert player versus an amateur.[6]

At the EMC World Conference in Las Vegas in May 2015, Emotiv showed how the headsets can be used to play video games using mind control.[7]

Therefore, until and unless the above mentioned "Consumer use" and the "References" sections both provide no references about Emotiv and its corresponding post-2011 operations, it remains nothing more than a scam assisting fraudster Nam Do to achieve the primary purpose of his fraudulent activities: defrauding the community at large. This is because one of many nasty tricks that Nam Do has been playing is to use the terms "Emotiv" and "Emotiv Systems" interchangeably and to link "Emotiv Systems" with the website of Emotiv https://emotiv.com/ TechieMe (talk) 03:49, 14 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH: what had been previously edited/contributed by other "editors/contributors" is a scam!

There is a concrete evidence that the previous Wikipedia page containing the misleading/deceptive representation had been edited by Nam Do himself or his associates.

Since the last edition on 14 April 2016, Nam Do has on his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/nam.ster.3/about still given the link https://www.facebook.com/pages/Emotiv-Systems/107670445923038?pnref=about.overview to redirect readers to the relevant page of Wikipedia, but readers can only read up to the below paragraph:

"Emotiv Systems is an Australian electronics innovation company developing technologies to evolve human computer interaction incorporating non-conscious cues into the human-computer dialog to emulate human to human interaction. Developing brain–computer interfaces based on electroencephalography (EEG) technology, Emotiv.. Continue reading".

But after clicking "Continue reading" , nothing can be read. TechieMe (talk) 04:20, 10 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
