Hello! As requested by Gayobah13 via the October 2024 Women in Green editathon event page, here is a quick 20-minute assessment of the article to help suggest what key improvements might be needed before any formal attempt at submitting the article as a Good Article (GA) nomination. The article looks stable, the images are relevant and properly licensed, and I'm not seeing any major issues with the grammar or punctuation. Here are the things that need the most attention right now:
Make sure the "Criticisms" subsection stays appropriately encyclopedic in tone (and perhaps move it all to the "Controversies" section). The angry line "She has worked under Jammeh for six years and she barely criticised Jammeh’s regime for the atrocities it continued to commit" is going to raise concerns for GA reviewers who are looking to ensure the article is neutral in tone. If a reliable source has stated these claims about Bensouda, then try rewriting the line to say "This source has claimed that...", but don't portray a contentious opinion as a proven fact.
Check for paraphrasing issues. I ran a check with Earwig's copy-violation tool, and it flagged a number of sentences as being too close to the original text. Many of the sentences are simply job/award titles or properly quoted quotations (not an issue), but there are definitely some too-close phrases in the article that should be better paraphrased by using different words and/or sentence structure. For example:
"sneak into the local courts"
"at both the national and international level"
"the rule of law and thereby contributing to world peace"
Ensure that all content is cited to a reliable source --> I see some sentences that are uncited or that still have a "citation needed" tag.
Tidy up the formatting of PDF sources. Currently, there are several PDFs and external links that have been inserted directly into the article text (see "Other activities" section) instead of being cited in the reference list. These PDFs and external links should be cited as regular website sources (there is a "Format" field in the citation tool that can be marked with PDF to show what kind of file it is).
