McGowan quote
editAdded the full context of the quote from Rose McGowan. Taken in full context it does not sound that bad.Thenext (talk) 00:10, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

editI found a copy of the film for sale - and usind the low res small copy rational of posters uploaded it. As far as I know this film is out - the UK but not in the US. I have not done a lot of checking, but came across it in my work with Handmade Films this film has something to due with Handmade, as it shows up in the Variety archives here ciao --K3vin (talk) 20:38, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Cast list
editI have no objection to removing the table but to remove just the start of the table template created a terribly unattractive layout with pipes and like. If the user that deleted that intended a redesign, and I jumped the gun, I apologize. But it is wiki, and its not like that has not happened to me before whil I took longer than i expected. No harm no fowl. --K3vin (talk) 00:44, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Truth
editcan we not have the truth on the pages that the actress Rose McGowan: I would have signed up for the IRA Hollywood actress Rose McGowan has claimed she would have been an IRA terrorist if she had lived through the Troubles; "I imagine, had I grown up in Belfast, I would 100 per cent have been in the IRA," said the actress, whose father is Irish.
McGowan said, "My heart just broke for the cause. Violence is not to be played out daily and provide an answer to problems, but I understand it."
Her comments at the Toronto Film Festival have infuriated Mr McGartland, who said: "She must have taken leave of her senses."
He added: "Rose McGowan's comments were insulting to victims of IRA terrorism and she should apologise. It's easy to say this sort of thing when you live in LA."
IRA were some of the nicest people that I ever met, says actor Up and coming young actor Jim Sturgess — who stars in the new informer movie 50 Dead Men Walking — has spoken about the “human side” of the IRA and how some of its members were “the nicest people” he’d ever met.
Fifty Dead Men Walking Director Kari Skogland apologises for Rose McGowan's IRA comments, In a statement, they said they regret any ``distress that this (the comments) may have caused to people of Northern Ireland and particularly those who were victims of or caught up in the shocking events that existed during the Troubles.
The comments ``were not shared, nor endorsed, by anybody associated with the production or creative elements of the film, they said.
Director Kari Skogland said: "Rose's personal opinions of Northern Ireland do not reflect the perspective of the film in any way.
Really makes me think...... this is the truth..... neilduffy Oldtart (talk) 19:57, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- Your addition was not a balanced representative sample of press about the film. In fact none of it was actually about the film, but a selection of cherry-picked quotes designed to portray living people in a negative light. O Fenian (talk) 19:59, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- Press soundbites add nothing encyclopaedic to the article. Mo ainm~Talk 20:03, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
They are confirmed quotes and interviews from the actors within the film........ seems to be very one sided WIKI...... I suggest you get from behind your text books and go and see what real life is all about... go and pound the streets of Belfast, Basra, and Helmund and you would not have a clue what is going on in the world........ It is not cherry picking OF it is the truth and is that not WIKI is about.... the quote they have said are in the press and should they be published...... Neilduffy Oldtart (talk) 20:19, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- Please address the points raised. The quotes are not about the film itself, they are about the actors. So do you believe that a balanced section about the press the film has received does not actually consist of any information about the film, but instead consists of three quotes about the actors in the film, and not about their performance in the film either? O Fenian (talk) 20:24, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- If you would look at the interview it is about the making of the film fifty dead men walking... However, you lifted a small selection of cherry-picked quotes from Marty's book which were designed by you to portray him, a living person in a negative light, You added the following; 'McGartland described his childhood as one in which he would join with older boys in stone-throwing, this was done to goad the British Army. He also became involved in battles with other Catholic youths were they would fight with Protestant boys, this mostly involved throwing stones at each other.' and 'He became involved in petty crime, which brought him to the notice of the RUC . He agreed to provide information to them about the IRA, which he infiltrated and was given the code name, "Agent Carol...' You 'cherry-picked above quotes from a book with over 80,000 words. I do need to ask you once again, I am curious as to what your views are on informers and agents, those who have given information against the terrorist groups in N. Ireland???? as you do seem to be quite out spoken on the topic. only you have not answered the question. neil duffy Oldtart (talk) 20:28, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- Did I really add that? Provide a diff that shows me adding the information, or strike through your accusation. I have no intention of getting involved in any debates unrelated to specific edits to articles, sorry to disappoint you. O Fenian (talk) 20:30, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
At the end of the day because they are are in the public lime light, nothing bad can be said about them, because Marty has to live in hiding for protecting the UK against IRA Terrorists he can get the brunt of it..... at the end of the day you are writing about and referring to a living person.... The martin Mcgartland page will be getting removed and not through so called "wiki admins" but through the correct chain.... when i hear some of you academics go on as if you know everything it makes me ashamed to be British.... it is because of "Agents" like Martin and thousands of others, going back hundreds of years, this country is still the main power in the west..... go and take a look in the mirror the pair of you and think long and hard.....Oldtart (talk) 20:56, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- Neil your clear COI and bias is showing with every post, you don't know the past experience of editors here on Wikipedia they could be war heros they could be IRA volunteers you just don't know, the ethos of wikipedia is that different editors from different realms of society join together to create an encyclopaedia that is free to view and edit. So please take a step back and look at what you are trying to achieve here and if you cant work with other editors then maybe this is not the place fr you. Mo ainm~Talk 21:15, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
editCyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
