Firestar in Cable

edit

What are the sources about her being on Cables strike team? If the sources aren't added I'm going to remove it. 84.13.109.173 (talk) 19:46, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've searched the internet over, and I cannot find any source for this statement, only fan speculation. However, the same information shows up in many places, so its possible that someone leaked the info and it has yet to be released from Marvel. Tathunen (talk) 21:14, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

It seems that the new text "New press material has shown that Firestar will appear as a member of the X-Men" is another rumor, therefore it should be removed. I cannot help but wonder if the same person who posted the false Cable info posted this. Probably wishful thinking, which is fine in general, but Wikipedia is not the place for it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.78.163.63 (talk) 17:43, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Firestar in X-Men

edit

I don't remember her ever being a X-Man. Should she really be under that catagory.

In the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends TV show, it was at least implied that the TV version had been an X-Man at the same time as Bobby Drake. Ventifax 16:03, 2 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Read the whole article. The specific issues of the various comics are included. 12.22.250.4 18:24, 19 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Her infobox states that she was created by Claremont and Romita. I'd say that this is of questionable accuracy, unless they were involved in Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.--SHODAN 18:21, 10 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Questionable indeed; not only were Chris Claremont and John Romita, Jr. not responsible for the character's design, they weren't even the first comics creators to handle Firestar; Uncanny X-Men #193 was her first in-continuity appearance, but her first comics appearance was the Amazing Friends one-shot four years prior. At most, Claremont could take some credit for the naive innocent persona that she started out with in-continuity, since the Uncanny issue saw print before the Firestar LS. Unless JRjr. had any input on the character's design for the animated series, he gets no "creator" credit at all--Firestar's initial look was exactly the same as the Amazing Friends incarnation. -- Pennyforth 11:13, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re Human Torch

edit
This may be an urban legend but it has been stated many times that

the reason the human torch wasn't used for the amazing friends cartoon was that producers apparently had a problem with a character being covered in flames as children may try to recreate this. Has anybody got confirmation of this? (Mikey01 22:15, 30 April 2007 (UTC))Reply

I don't have the sources here, but the real reason was that Johnny's rights had been sold separately, thus making it hard (or, in this case, impossible) to use him for cartoons (Fantastic Four and Spider-man). If you think about it, Angelica is covered in flames, as well, so that was not the reason. Icecypher 16:51, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
fair enough I wasnt 100% thats why i mentioned it here but didn't

edit the article. (Mikey01 01:04, 7 May 2007 (UTC))Reply

I own a bootleg DVD set of the cartoon series with Firestar, and on it is a "making of" featurette in which the creators of the series talked about the fact that Firestar was created as a distaff version of Human Torch because the screen rights to Torch were tied up, but one of the creators did say that they did not want to show a woman on fire on the screen. That's why Firestar always had a heat glow around her instead of flames.

Firestar-Sunfire

edit

It's notable that Firestar in Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends used her powers in a similar fashion as the X-Men's Sunfire? -Golem866 (talk) 17:11, 15 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Maximum Carnage

edit

I don't how to add volume and & issue numbers but, I know that in her 'New Warriors' paragraph about her involvement in the Maximum Carnage crossover, where it mentions that she couldn't kill Carnage, it was Spectacular Spider-man issue 202, Maximum Carnage Part 9 of 14. Thought it might be helpful to the page. :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.49.60.117 (talk) 08:18, 30 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Firestar in Spider-Verse

edit

There is no indication that the Firestar, or Spider-Man and Iceman for that matter, killed in Spider-Verse was a different Firestar from the animated program she debuted in. It was the same universe as the tv show and should he reflected in this article. PublicFrenemynumber5 (talk) 20:07, 4 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
