The United Kingdom of Great Britain

edit

The UK was formed in 1707. Great Britain was never officially styled the "Kingdom of Great Britain". From the beginning of 1801, "and Ireland" was added to the style and the Irish Parliament abolished. The words, "and Ireland" were replaced with "and Northern Ireland", in about 1927, after the creation of the Irish Free State [6.12.22], which is now known as "The Republic of Ireland". --—Preceding unsigned comment added by Dimadick (talkcontribs) 13:34, 25 September 2008

Wrong: the UK was formed in 1801. See United Kingdom. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 23:59, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Results?

edit

What's up with the results here? If Pitt's supporters had 6 seats, they should be third, not second, and either way that certainly doesn't constitute 17.4% of the seats.--Pig house (talk) 18:13, 12 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

If nobody objects, I'm going to re-arange the parties and remove the percentages, which I can only see causing confusion for readers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pig house (talkcontribs) 15:45, 26 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
Oh, and since this was (in Britain) essentially a co-option of the 1796 Parliament, shouldn't the results be the same as for that election, not 1802, which was a fresh election and no doubt saw different results? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pig house (talkcontribs) 15:50, 26 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

An election?

edit

Should this article be titled as a general election? There was no election. 119.236.141.31 (talk) 21:10, 31 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

No, it should not. This article is built rather wrongly. Msftwin95 (talk) 05:16, 17 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
