Content copied from published article
editA large portion of this article appears to be a wholesale copy of an article by the Fort Ross Conservatory "Бытъ По Сему “So Be It” 200 Years of the History and Interpretation of “The flag granted by His Imperial Highness” The Flag of the Russian-American Company." I have a gut feeling I'll be the one to eventually clean up this article, just making note of this grievous issue. Voltaire's Vaquero (talk) 03:12, 14 October 2014 (UTC)
- The article was written and edited for Wikipedia with the consent and encouragement of the author of "Бытъ По Сему “So Be It” 200 Years of the History and Interpretation of “The flag granted by His Imperial Highness” The Flag of the Russian-American Company." which had been removed from the Fort Ross Conservancy's web-site, and was no longer available on the internet. The original source is well referenced on the page, and the author is credited; it is therefore not a "grievous issue"(Ltkizhi (talk) 15:45, 26 March 2015 (UTC))
- Excellent news then. Even with the original source cited, I am often hesitant when an article copies large amounts of content as it often is done without author permission.Voltaire's Vaquero (talk) 21:44, 24 April 2016 (UTC)
Continued vandalism to page by self-serving editor
editThe contributor "NuclearVacuum" has repeatedly inserted his own artwork on this page and other Wikipedia pages which reference Russian-America history. Not only is his artwork incorrect in many details, the substitution of modern replica sensibilities in place of original historic documents undermines the very purpose of vexillogical research and perpetuates errors and mistakes. This type of self-promotion is inexcuseable in regards to historic research and accurate information. Ltkizhi (talk) 01:05, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
