edit143.238.215.220 (talk) 05:40, 2 May 2008 (UTC) This is indeed a true article. I have been aware of flatulists, especially Mr. Methane, for quite some time. I have viewed his performances on television as well as his website. The content contained in this article is correct.
I get the feeling that particular individuals object to this article's content due to their over-conservative values, which I feel is not fair judgement of Wikipedia articles.
This article can be confirmed. I tried prostrating, and I was able to suck in air into my anus and dispel it would controlled pitches at will. However, it was not flamable, likely due to the fact I was mostly farting oxygen. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wikologist (talk • contribs) .

- He probably meant mostly farting air, which contains a lot more than just oxygen. If he were taking in air and expelling pure oxygen, I hate to think where the rest went! 75.153.221.227 04:10, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
"professional flatulist"
edit"fart" is not slang. If anything, "flatulence" is, a burgeois euphemism taken from Middle French, in use since 1599, while "fart" is a time-honoured, stable word used in all dialects of English, descending straight from Anglo-Saxon feortan. "professional flatulist" is tautological, you don't call a non-professional farter a "flatulist". dab (ᛏ) 13:08, 22 March 2006 (UTC) Is there a reason that there could not be such a thing as an amateur flatulist? Vectro (talk) 05:06, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Oh, could I expel upon command ...
editFrom the introductory article in the Exemplaria "web cluster:
- "Yet even flatulence can become sweet harmony, ..."
However, I'm not sure it be stretched into scholarship. (Purses lips)
This is an article derivative of a article published on the web, the site associated with a journal which apparently has some notability. Two questions arise:
- Is an article summarizing a web-published article associated with a scholarly (?) journal, notable enough?
- Does this article constitute original research?
Anyway, this is the link to the "web cluster" of articles published together on the site, here is the TOC of the latest copy of the journal (looks scholarly, no?)
Oh, yes, and as I do have some small acquaintance with someone of the medievalist persuasion, I must admit they do have a fascination with the oddities of history, and are not adverse to demonstrating that audibly.
Bad references
editThe second and third citations given give no clue as to what is being cited — a book, a magazine article, a paper. Author+title is not sufficient information for a proper citation. Uncle G 03:37, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
I would like to find more information about the Kamakura period 'fart dancer' Oribe, but there's no citation whatsoever. (Lostamazon (talk) 05:25, 3 November 2008 (UTC))
Grismannen
editI think that the album Absolute Bajs of industrial band Grismannen should be mentioned here due to the existence of flatulistic tracks in it. But I'm not sure. --Abdullais4u 08:24, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
Audio file
editThis article could really use an audio file. Gobonobo T C 04:36, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- Pretty sure everyone who can hear knows what a fart sounds like. Cratylus3 (talk) 04:55, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- But I'd wager that few have heard controlled farting in a manner that can even produce melodies. I, for one, haven't. --Florian Blaschke (talk) 20:50, 25 December 2012 (UTC)

Matshishkapeu
editIsn't a flatulist suppose to be an entertainer? If so, how is Matshishkapeu within this article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.183.46.11 (talk) 01:26, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

King ass ripper
editDoes anyone have any reputable references to king ass ripper. He was quite a popular youtuber but all of his videos have been removed. He is notable for his past popularity as well as being referenced on the "your moms house podcast. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.76.8.66 (talk) 11:10, 20 January 2023 (UTC)
