LLC?
editI notice that on the corporate site and on the yahoo profile the company is listed as Fortress Investment Group LLC.
Nowhere on the wiki article is the LLC styling offered. 96.224.111.9 02:57, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- You're correct! I went ahead and added it to the article, but in the future, please know that you can definitely add things yourself. This is a wiki and anyone (including you) can edit! --JayHenry 03:03, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
It seems that John Edwards short term experience with Fortress may have been mutually beneficial. Fortress has contributed significantly to his presidential run.
Olympic Village complications....
editIt's far too hard to summarize, and I'm too POV on it to want to make an edit/addition, but it turns out that the people the City of Vancouv er is having to borrow money form, due to Bill 47, which uahotirizes the city to get previously-illegal loans, is actually also Fortress Investmenets. What this means is, effectively, that the money that Fortress refuses to spend itself, forcing the City and theProvince to such extreme measures, Fortress is the party loaning the money to them. Effectively the City is the one making the loan, but being charged interest for thep rivilege of doing so by the same company that will remain in ownership of the assets involved. The actual final amount is also unknown. The full text of MLA Corky Evans' speech is here - look for the January 29, 2009 posting as this is a large blog/chronicle of scandals in BC, and can also be found ou Youtube; it should also be in teh provincialHansard. If somebody here from WP:Companies who understands the financial manoeuvring (and nobody does) can boil it down to the proper NPOV addition, please do so. If not within a few days I'll try to digest it myself but it's hard to be NPOV ab out such rank stupidity and crooked dealing....if this had happened in the US it woudl be all over the talkshows and news panels....Skookum1 (talk) 14:06, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
PROD
editI just deleted a prod tag from this page for the following reasons:
- The "prodder" didn't give any reason for deleting the article
- There are no obvious problems with the article that merit deletion - it is well sourced and notable, etc.
- The prod was likely bad faith, based on the prodders comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Barnegat Fund Management and User talk:Djbarnes. The Barnegat Fund Management article, whith which User:Djbarnes has a potential COI, was deleted for lack of notability, and now the user is prodding other hedge fund articles without giving reasons.

Possible Connection to Porn Industry
editRecent documentary "Pornocracy" alleges a financial connection between the company formerly known as "Manwin", which is believed to have a virtual worldwide monopoly on world wide porn, and the Fortress Investment Group. This is more of a "heads up" for people interested in researching this allegation, for possible inclusion in this Article.2605:6000:6961:5E00:FDB8:2191:6665:8F31 (talk) 04:04, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
