Speedy deletion of Barnegat Fund Management
editA tag has been placed on Barnegat Fund Management requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Jarkeld (talk) 15:29, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- As reviewing admin, I think its clearly not empty, though, the way it's going it will almost certainly be deleted as promotional . Please see our FAQ about businesses, for an explanation. It has to simply describe the company, and give references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases to show why its notable. General discussion of the markets is not appropriate here. DGG (talk) 18:13, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Barnegat Fund Management
editA proposed deletion template has been added to the article Barnegat Fund Management, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Little claim in article of meeting WP:Notability. Total of 45 non-wiki ghits, none of which shows notability; zero gnews hits. Editor who created article has a user name remarkably similar to the head trader at BFM.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. editYou have been accused of sockpuppetry, which means that someone suspects you of using multiple Wikipedia accounts for prohibited purposes. Blocked
editAs per Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Djbarnes, it has been found that you, or others connected to you, have been using multiple accounts to edit the same article and vote-stack its related deletion request. I have thus blocked this account for 72 hours, with a warning not to use multiple accounts or get others to create accounts to vote the same way as you. Thank you. Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Soros Fund Management, you will be blocked from editing. Dawn Bard (talk) 01:48, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
What did I do? Is my opinion of the Soros page and it's Wiki-portance not agreeable to you??? I can't apologize for agreeing to disagree with you. All I can do is be glad that I live in a world that embraces ALL forms of freedom of speech..--Djbarnes (talk) 01:54, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- You added back a group of statements that had been struck from an AFD for being sockpuppets of yours, and you added a specious AFD tag to Soros Fund Management, all just after coming back from a 72 hour block for sockpuppetry. I have restored your AFD note at Soros Fund Management, if you really want to go through with it, let me know, and I can help you complete the listing (it's incomplete as it is). But please don't even start with the free speech stuff - Wikipedia is not Congress, and per WP:FREESPEECH, "Although we welcome all constructive contributors, editing Wikipedia is a privilege, not a right. There is no legal right to edit Wikipedia." Dawn Bard (talk) 02:12, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Yes. If the Barnegat Fund Management Article is nominated for deletion, the I'd like to also nominate these pages for deletion:
- Soros Fund Management
- The Children's Investment Fund Management
- Bridgewater Associates
- Citadel Investment Group
- D.E. Shaw & Co.
- Fortress Investment Group
- Long-Term Capital Management
- Man Group
- Renaissance Technologies
- Amaranth Advisors
and I'd like all of my discussions and comments re-instated everywhere please. Thank you for playing fair.--Djbarnes (talk) 02:15, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- You need to provide the reasons, maybe starting with Soros. Dawn Bard (talk) 02:16, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- The reasons are all the exact same ones that you see in the arguments for the deletion of the Barnegat Fund Management page. Do you need me to list them here?--Djbarnes (talk) 02:31, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- See the instructions at WP:AFD to list them. Don't list them without valid reasons based on Wikipedia's guidelines, particularly regarding notability. Let's face it - it's going to to look like you are listing these simply because the article for your company has been nominated for deletion - I strongly suggest that you don't do this. File copyright problem with File:BARNEGATcropped copy.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:BARNEGATcropped copy.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. (ESkog)(Talk) 02:44, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Your proposed deletions
editJust because your firm was judged to be non-notable doesn't mean other firms aren't. This could constitute dispruptive behavior. TastyPoutine talk (if you dare) 03:24, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Your gross assumptions
editQuite the contrary. I actually have come to agree with the deletion of my submission, and I've come to believe that all promotional hedge fund articles should be delted as well. Therefore, I would ask that YOU cease to vandalize my proposed deletions and re-instate them immediately. djbarnes talk (unless you are a hippocritical chicken sh*t) 03:24, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
Bryan Singer
editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Bryan Singer, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. —Erik (talk • contrib) 14:35, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi, I noticed you've been inserting inline links to www.kawanhee.com. Please see: WP:ELPOINTS and perhaps review the entire page Wikipedia:External links. You would want to put these external links at the end of the article in the External Links section, and only if it is relevant to the article, not for every person who went to that camp. If you're trying to cite that as a source, see WP:CITE#HOW for guidance on inserting inline citations.
Could you please remove these inline external links in the various articles where you have inserted them?--Dbratland (talk) 17:15, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Junior Maine Guide Program, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.mainecamps.org/JMG/index.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 13:14, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Your recent addition to Junior Maine Guide Program has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Hoboken
editPlease stop adding unsourced material to articles, as you did with this edit to Hoboken, New Jersey. Material must be accompanied by inline citations that support it, as described in WP:Citing Sources. The material you added contained no such citation, and the webpage at the link you included made no mention of transexuals, Hooters or comparative salaries, and was merely a notice of an upcoming TV program. speedy tags
editOnce a speedy tag has been removed , if it is by someone other than the author of the article, do not restore it. If you still think the article should be deleted, you must send it to AfD. I'd advise against that for William Ackman -- businessmen of that financial scope are usually notable--and has good references for that. See WP:N for the guidelines. In view of some of the above comments, I would strongly urge you to be very cautious about this. DGG ( talk ) 15:26, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

editHello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. I'd like to change my name
The article Robert Karofsky has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Battleaxe9872 Talk 14:12, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:PJCIII.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:PJCIII.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 128.205.122.120 (talk) 19:14, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for File:PJCIII.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to File:PJCIII.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 20:29, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
File source and copyright licensing problem with File:PJCIII.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:PJCIII.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 20:30, 11 August 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 20:30, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Nomination of Robert Karofsky for deletion
editThe article Robert Karofsky is being discussed concerning whether it is suitable for inclusion as an article according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

File permission problem with File:BARNEGATcropped copy.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:BARNEGATcropped copy.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 08:33, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
