editI've bought the foxboro hot tubs cd and on it it says "Contains all the members of green day." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seabassucc (talk • contribs) 21:15, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Tonight I heard a DJ on my radio (station: KEDJ Phoenix 103.9) announced their song with the exact words "a side project of Green Day", so I'd say that should be proof enough at this point, rather than saying "secret side project". Bubacxo 09:21, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
The similarity between "Mother Mary" and Green Day's "Dearly Beloved" should be noted. Besides the similar chord progression, the "ooh"s in the background sound like the same voices on both songs.--75.73.26.15 (talk) 02:53, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Personally, I hear a distinct similarity to Tom Petty in the singing voice for "Mother Mary"... I think it should be added on influences (or comparisons). Also, I haven't heard that particular comparison about any other songs by either Green Day or The Network. So I'm not so sure it's them... Whoever they are, I think they could do well with a cover of "American Girl" or something :) Bubacxo (talk) 10:55, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Is it just me, or does the website display a clock now? Juicebarjoseph (talk) 20:06, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Doesn't this remind you of American Idiot? It seems Whatsername is replaced with "Mother Mary" and so on. It of course sounds like GD when they go slightly modern on the guitar. It's really good. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.234.201.141 (talk) 23:43, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
The article says that Green Day hasn't used samples since Kerplunk! yet they used a sample in their 2004 American Idiot B-Side "Favorite Son". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.78.15.16 (talk) 19:21, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
It's funny how things work. Just because it might be Green Day, people think it's good and it gets a lot of attention. But if it wasn't, people wouldn't give a rats ass because frankly, the songs are mediocre at best, even for Green Day. Just pathetic how peoples minds work. Some are leaders, but most are just followers.
I agree, the songs aren't amazing, but they are kind of fun, and I saw them live and it was cute. I think they were just to relieve some of the tension before following up AI. But you're right. If this was some band's debut cd, I'd say they'd need a few more years to grow into their style.~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.140.254.250 (talk) 20:09, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
This page is horribly written and filled with errors, both factual and grammatical. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.96.50.56 (talk) 07:43, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
I agree - someone edit this so it doesn't read like it was written by a twelve year old with learning difficulties —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.84.15.237 (talk) 13:47, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
I changed it to say 'suspected side project The Network' because it has not been confirmed that they are indeed the Network. Until that happens, it needs to stay neutral. Gehrc (talk) 01:40, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
Warner/Chapell Music info
editHi, it was there, but it's since been pulled. Possibly because of this Wiki, but who really knows (i mean if they didn't want anyone to know they're Green Day, why would the take it down?). Doc StrangeTelepathic MessagesStrange Frequencies 01:03, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Name
editThe name of the band is "Foxboro Hottubs" yet here on wikipedia it is listed as "Foxboro Hot Tubs" 69.125.201.213 (talk) 19:54, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- Apparantly "Foxboro Hot Tubs" is the proper band name, but I've now created a redirect from "Foxboro Hottubs", so even if the issue is still vague (which I don't think it is), at least searching either one will get you to this article. - harutake 04:24, 20 May 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Harutake (talk • contribs)
I'm pretty sure its "hot tubs". "Hottubs" isn't a real word and i can't find a source that uses it in the name. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.156.153.201 (talk) 00:35, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- Lots of words that aren't really words are in band names, so that point is irrelevant. And whether or not there's a source of someone mistakenly reporting the band name as two words rather than three is also irrelevant. WP:Redirect#reasons lists "Misspellings" as one of the "good" reasons for a redirect, listing "Condoleeza Rice redirects to Condoleezza Rice" as an example. On the cover of the FHT album, it really looks like "hottubs" is all one word, so it is completely reasonable to think that if someone is searching the band name based on the album cover, they may type "Foxboro Hottubs". More to the point, by Wikipedia's standards there's no solid reason to not have this redirect, since it is doing exactly what redirects are supposed to do. If you still have a serious problem with this, shake your fist in the discussion page on WP:Redirect, not here. - ♥ harutake ♫ | talk 08:45, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
Why do people keep saying Foxboro Hot Tubs sound like Tom Petty?
editSome people are saying that Foxboro Hot Tubs sounds like Tom Petty, and they (Foxboro Hot Tubs) are starting to be compared to him (Tom Petty). Why are they comparing them to each other and saying they sound alike? Billie Joe Armstrong sounds like Billie Joe Armatrong, not Tom Petty, and Tom Petty sounds like Tom Petty, not Billie Joe Armstrong.
If anyone knows why, please click the link below and give me an answer! No one's answered yet! Thank you! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmurKUx3HJUxKfAg43fjkmXsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080513184226AAkm16b —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.127.253.9 (talk) 00:21, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
Usage of is versus are
editIsn't it "The Foxboro Hot Tubs are an American rock n' roll band.?" As opposed to is which is what the article has in it right now. I'm going to change it. Danman1202 (talk) 00:05, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
No. FBHT is one thing. There isn't a group of Foxboro Hot Tubs. 90.202.167.80 (talk) 18:18, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Supporting Green Day and "It's *** Time" (2008-present)
editThis section states they played in Islington, London in November 2009 after playing Wembley. Green Day played Wembley in June 2010; I believe whoever wrote this section meant to say the O2 Arena. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.162.119.175 (talk) 23:50, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
- Can you find a source to clear this up? If so it should be changed.MilkStraw532 (talk) 00:49, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
No, Green Day played at Wembley Arena before that Foxboro show in Nov 2009 (they had played at the O2 Arena in October 2009). They played Wembley Stadium in June 2010. I know this since I was at all those shows but it wouldn't have been difficult to google that info :P
This article used to be really good but it seems to have been ruined, "On 31st October, 2010 during the 21st Century Breakdown World Tour as Green Day, the band performed a brief set as Foxboro Hot Tubs before the support band as a Halloween surprise at the Manchester MEN Arena." is wrong, it was on 31st October 2009. And then Green Day played Wembley Arena the next night on Nov 1st 2009 and played the Foxboro show in Islington straight afterwards in the early hours of the morning. I see the bits about them playing two shows in New York in 2010 and playing the new song 'It's Fuck Time' have been removed too. I have no idea why someone has spoiled this article by removing those parts, would it be possible for someone to put it back to how it used to be or does it have to be re-written? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.130.9.208 (talk) 11:07, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
