Move?

edit

Why was this page moved? It seems that he's always referred to by his first and last name, and there's no disambiguation issue, so why was this moved to include his middle name?--Yaksar (let's chat) 04:56, 21 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

This goes deeper. The move [1] appears to be part of a personal campaign to expand article titles that use middle initials to ones using full middle names instead, see [2].
[3] is another example of such a move, with no rationale or discussion.
At Talk:Robert L. Bacon#Requested move one such move was discussed, and the move was rejected.
I have previously posted a very mild warning on the user's talk page [4]. I will post another, and revert undiscussed moves of this nature as I find them.
I invite others to do the same, as my time is a bit limited and it also helps to have others involved. Assume good faith and remember that if worst comes to worst, your comments and actions may become part of an RfC case. It's very important to have good discussions, or at least to attempt them. Note that the relevant guideline is Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people)#Middle names and abbreviated names, which reads in part: Generally, use the most common format of a name used in reliable sources: if that is with a middle name or an abbreviation, make the Wikipedia article title conform to that format. Examples: John F. Kennedy, Thomas John Barnardo, Annie M. G. Schmidt. Andrewa (talk) 23:38, 21 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have reverted the move. This required no sysop powers so I don't think an RM is necessary, but I think one would now be advised if the move were to be reinstated. It is obviously controversial. Andrewa (talk) 23:42, 21 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
And I've left a message at the user's talk page. [5]. Andrewa (talk) 23:54, 21 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Note the following Google searches [6] [7] [8] but note also that many of the ghits for Frank Leffingwell are for other people. Andrewa (talk) 00:28, 22 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
