section on origin

edit

This section is too long and sounds more definitive than it should be. Seek clarification: Did Shri Gajanan Maharaj travel to Nasik in 1887 (after he came to Shegaon in 1878)? is the question about his origin settled? I do not think so. Every devotee is entitled to hold their opinion because the question is not settled. That does not change anyone'e devotion to the saint.Tkul (talk) 20:56, 23 November 2016 (UTC)tkulReply

I think this page needs a good picture of the saint. (--Mayuresh Kadu (India) 23:30, 19 August 2005 (UTC))Reply

samadhi

edit

The word samadhi needs to be linked to the relevent article on this website. Also, need to distinguish this from the samadhi that some other saints took.Tkul A lot has been added to this article about early days of Shri Gajanan maharaj without citing the references. Can the editors please cite the references? Tkul (talk) 03:30, 1 August 2010 (UTC)tkulReply

He wore very little clothes. He attained Mahasamadhi on 8 September, 1910."Reply

Criticism

edit

The criticism section is unwarranted. If you wish to retain this, please add the section of every revered religious figure in history, for this vague comment can be made on all of them. If not, please remove the same. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Suvarnatejas (talkcontribs) 00:20, 3 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi,

Please change the work charlatan to saint in the above paragraph of the article. Thanks.

Hi,

charlatans claim to perform miracles like above. So let it remain like that.

Gajanan Maharaj never spoke a word during his life time, His so called divine power is based on assumption that he has performed the so called miracles detailed in the Pothis. Gajanan Sansthan is doing a good work but no doubt there was nothing divine about Gajanan maharaj. He has not done any work comparable with the revered saints like Saint Dnyaneshwar, Saint Tukaram & various others. There are claims that he had met Lokmanya Tilak but this has not been historically proven. Although we still see painting of Gajanan Maharaj with Lokmanya Tilak at the temple in shegaon. Criticism section would certainly help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.191.35.24 (talk) 10:51, 11 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Create new article for Shree Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan, Shegaon

edit

Hey guys, I propose creation of a separate article for the Sansthan, as it is a social and religious institution drawing visitors from all over India. Help me create the article, leave a message on my talk page. canaar (talk) 05:15, 6 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
