"Devil's Disciples?"
The Devil's Disciples* link goes to a page about a movie, and I don't think the makers of the film were in this gang. Anyway, I do believe they were called "Satan's Disciples" not "Devils", at least that's what the gang kids signified as when I was a kid in that area...?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.194.236.53 (talk) 12:29, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

The 8 Ball Alliance between the Gangster Disiples (Folk Nation) and the Crips
The Gangster Disciples and Crips have an alliance in the south, midwest, and some parts in the east. This should be acknowleged. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.242.121.211 (talk) 02:26, 8 December 2012 (UTC) the crips recently wants to leave this alliance because the dangerous acts of gangster disciples — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.4.175.140 (talk) 16:40, 20 March 2014 (UTC)
from article
current, splinter off crews and a almost non existant power structure the gangster disciples are one of the biggest gangs in the world and currently very unorginized in some parts due to the fact the structure is very cracked With no defenant supreme leader. In chicago alone they have a few notible splinter off groups such as the boss city pimips, renegade disciples and the new breeds. this also has to do with the fact the Folk Nation is almost non existant considering many of the gangs have made interconflicts within there own nations such as the one in the Maniac Latin Disciplesor have made rivalrys with other folk gangs such as the one between the Satan Disciples,Spanish Cobras and the Maniac latin Disciples some have left the nation all together such as the Gangster Two Six who strated messing with the gdn in the mid 90's and they previously had started being rivals with all the white and latino folk gangs and as a result they were escentially kicked out.other gangs such as black disciples have splintered off groups also, with the blue fin black disciples who are a people gang. as result many gd sets are going indiependant or renegade because they feel being affilated with any folk gang can get them in more heat than it would if they were renegade.as a result folk gd sets fued with the renegades

was gds one of the first originated gangs
Why was all the stuff I typed up deleted and my talk page entry deleted? I was merely pointing out rather important points like F.O.L.K.S is the correct term, not Folk and that Folks have no nationwide alliance with Crips or nationwide beef with Bloods.
To be rather blunt about it most of this article reeks of google bangers putting up the misinformation crap they find on the internet. I was pointing out the facts on a few things and when I come back everything I put up is deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.235.186.207 (talk) 23:10, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- Simple: Adding info without wp:rs will likely get deleted, especially when it's dubious and sounds like wp:OR in the frist place. Niteshift36 (talk) 23:32, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
Cashis
Shady records rapper Cashis is a member and i think it sound be metioned. Rikanatti (talk) 23:32, 3 July 2009 (UTC) There are Gangster Disciples in California. They can be found in Orange County and San Diego County. If you have Vice Lords up there, G.D.s should also be up there. There are just as many G.D.s as Vice Lords in California.
Gangster Disciples in Califonia
"The Gangster Disciples gang is becoming more active in northern San Diego County. It is apparently trying to unite African-American gangs that operate in areas such as Oceanside and San Marcos under its control. According to law enforcement sources, the Gangster Disciples gang has been in the area about 1¾ years. Law enforcement has identified approximately 80 members of the gang and estimates its numbers at 200 to 250. The Gangster Disciples gang deals almost exclusively in powdered and crack cocaine, and it taxes other dealers who distribute drugs in areas under its control. The gang is also known to deal in weapons. "
"A group of African-American gangs in the Englewood area of Chicago formed the Black Gangster Disciple Nation gang in the late 1960s. It is primarily engaged in street-level distribution of narcotics and is known to use extortion against rival drug dealers. The Black Gangster Disciple Nation has since extended its membership and influence to a number of other cities and states including California."
Spanish Gangster Disciples also have a presence there.

Partial Source for the "8 Ball Alliance" Edit War Content
http://www.dc.state.fl.us/pub/gangs/la.html is a Florida Department of Corrections site containing at least some information about an alliance and the "8 Ball" symbol. --Rawlangs (talk) 15:53, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
- You need to use the specific part of the source, only what is in the source, and put that in the article. If it belongs in the article, it should be done correctly. Niteshift36 (talk) 18:41, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
- You'll notice I didn't put it back in (I'm not interested in edit warring). Just noticed this source supports some of the content in dispute, and I stated above. --Rawlangs (talk) 21:35, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
- The thing is, all of it has to be sourced. We can't source part of it and just fill it in on our own. Niteshift36 (talk) 23:40, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, get it, it's here because it's a potential source. You're allowed to boldly delete. Nobody is disputing that. Feel free to use it as you like. --Rawlangs (talk) 02:56, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
Gangster Disciple is not a gang it an organization many people feel like it's a gang because they way we carry ourselves and the these we do. People and other GD's say it's a gang because they don't know the truth about FOLK.FOLK was created back when white people had control and black people had to come together branching off of the Black Panthers and so on. Through time as the years passed by people started to forget what FOLK was created for and lost focus of what King David started FOLK for ,for black people to unit and come together. King David was born in 1944 in Chicago and Larry Hoover was born in Jackson , Mississippi in 1950 he moved to Chicago in 1954. Larry Hoover brought Gangster into the organization and started GD , King David was BD. They come together to form BGD as a unity between GD,BD,& IGD. He died in 1969 and BGD came apart GD verses BD, but there both still FOLK they went to war because Larry Hoover and Jerome F. both wanted to be the next king ,Larry Hoover was GD and Jerome F. Mac was BD, Larry Hoover started GD in 1974 http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Gangster_Disciples&action= edit& section=. ∀∀∀∀∀∀In 1969 two Vice Lords tried to kill King David at a donut shop, but he didn't die he was hurt bad that's how they came up with the dis calling G's donuts. {Vickie Lue fuck you}

Juggalos affiliation?
I mean, get serious. First of all, the Juggalos aren't even a real gang, unless you stretch the meaning of "Gang" to include band fanbases like Deadheads and Phisheads. GD is a serious, hardcore, organized gang in Chicago. IF you want me to believe they are, in anyway, affiliated with the Juggalos, a reference needs to be cited. That's way more likely to be someone trolling Wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xapxapxap (talk • contribs) 02:46, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- The FBI considers them a gang and they just lost their lawsuit against the FBI trying to get that removed. The reference you ask for was already there, someone had just moved it one name away. I restored the sourced information. Niteshift36 (talk) 03:32, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
This "sourced" information got blocked by my malware when I clicked on the link, I'm sure it's a totally legitimate source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xapxapxap (talk • contribs) 05:14, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, it is legitimate. It is a US Government report on the Juggalos gang. The author is the Dept. of Justice. The particular report being referenced is available for view on that website, which is merely hosting it. The report can be cited as an offline source. This just gives you the chance to view it. Niteshift36 (talk) 15:05, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
- And when I just clicked on the source again, neither of the anti-virus software I use flagged it. Not sure why yours does. Niteshift36 (talk) 15:08, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

Add GDN’s allies and rivals down
Their enemy’s are the black disciples and bloods so label that down. Their allies can be the crips. ORB 559 (talk) 03:36, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
- To add material -- enemies, allies, etc. -- we need a reliable source for the information. - SummerPhDv2.0 03:54, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
Oh I don’t know then ORB 559 (talk) 23:34, 23 June 2018 (UTC)
Where’s the abbreviation?
Should add the abbreviation like GD/GDN. ORB 559 (talk) 23:33, 23 June 2018 (UTC)

- Just do it who cares why do you white heads make everything perfect anyways? Smh 🤦♂️ ORB 559 (talk) 09:53, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
- You want to add things to various articles, to make them right. There are other people editing Wikipedia. Some disagree with you and want to add other things, to make the articles "right" in their opinion. Others are just here to vandalize, adding things that they know are wrong.
- The solution is simple: You cannot add material without citing a reliable source. If you don't like that, you are wasting your time here. - SummerPhDv2.0 20:08, 22 July 2018 (UTC)
Whitewashing
I've just noted several attempts to slowly tweak this article such that this criminal gang is somehow a vague organization. Let's see what the sources say.
The U.S. Department of Justice, which normally has little to say on your local chamber of commerce or Lions Club, in their National Gang Intelligence Center report on "Street Gangs" says they are a national street gang and lists the usually laundry list of crimes they are associated with.
The FBI, while remaining silent on AMBUCS and the Shriners, in their Criminal Division's report on "Violent Drug Gangs" has a lot to say about them as well.
Without once so much as mentioning Welcome Wagon or [[neighborhood watch]es, the National Gang Crime Research Center provides similar information on this "neighborhood organization".
It's a gang of criminals, nothing more. - SummerPhDv2.0 00:39, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
The FBI, while remaining silent on AMBUCS and the Shriners, in their Criminal Division's report on "Violent Drug Gangs" has a lot to say about them as well.
Uh, what the hell is that supposed to mean? Lol, they're not street gangs.
- P.S., personally laughed when I read that. MrThunderbolt1000T (talk) 04:29, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
- We have occasional editors trying to make the claim that the Gangster Disciples are not a criminal gang, they're just some sort of vague community group. My rant was saying that reports on criminal gangs discuss the Gangster Disciples, but not various other community groups. Obviously the Gangster Disciples are a criminal street gang. - SummerPhDv2.0 04:39, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
Changing the names and numbers
Whoever keeps changing the names or adding nicknames to the Gangster Disciple; please stop. Furthermore, I, on behalf of the Wikipedia community, implore you to quit changing the numbers to 100,000. If you have concrete evidence that their numbers are 100,000 and up, please provide it. Otherwise, leave it where it is. RelatedToMarioPrayer (talk) 07:22, 25 March 2021 (UTC)

Can we possibly restrict whoever keeps changing the name to the Mob from editing this article? RelatedToMarioPrayer (talk) 17:23, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
Personal Experience
I don’t care who you are or who you think you are. This article is based off of information provided by the government and other reliable sources. Stop adding shit based off of experience if you can’t cite it.
If enough sources say 1968, it’s 1968. If enough sources say 25k-50k, it’s 25k-50k. Y’all need to understand the damn rules. RelatedToMarioPrayer (talk) 09:41, 28 May 2021 (UTC)

Citiation needed for final sentence
The last line of the article states that "The Gangster Disciples are now defunct, and those still claiming the gang are acting on their own accord.". However, the citation is a Chicago Sun Times article that does not say that at all. In fact, the article says that prosecutors believe he is still running the gang. Is there a better source available, or should that last line just be deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:249:8D00:2570:2867:E77E:5976:6C00 (talk) 12:50, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
