editThe first reference does not indicate that GM has yet resigned. This morning, 2015.12.01, the mayor of Chicago announced that he had asked GM to resign (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2015/12/01/chicago-police-superintendent-fired/).
