Claim this one. Cheers. CPA-5 (talk) 09:32, 29 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

@CPA-5: - have you lost track of this one? (actually, I had too - I was looking at the GAN list to ping Sturm for the Nevada-class battleship review and saw this one - I'd completely forgotten about Grille) ;) Parsecboy (talk) 12:41, 12 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Well not really, I was first dealing with my older GAN reviews but right now I only have Battle of Hel but Piotrus and I have a disagreement on converting metric units. But after that, I'll have a look into this one. ;) Cheers. CPA-5 (talk) 12:46, 12 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • @CPA-5: - I don't know that Piotrus is going to do anything about the GA anytime soon - do you want to get this knocked out this week? I'd like to have it done by the end of the year, and next week is a little busier ;) Parsecboy (talk) 18:44, 18 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • It's ironic that I hassled you for a while about this and then as soon as you did the review, I got hit with some kind of stomach bug that put me out of commission for a couple of days. Parsecboy (talk) 14:40, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Oh dear, I hope no one in your family is infected by the bug? I am happy it's not on Christmas or otherwise it wouldn't be a lot of fun for you. Anyway please have a look at my replies. :L Cheers. CPA-5 (talk) 18:09, 21 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • resumed minelaying duties in the North Sea Unlink North Sea.
    • I think that's worth linking - it's not as well known and I don't think that many readers outside of Europe could tell you where it is (unless they're interested in naval history like me!)
  • True but, I saw in a couple of articles that the North Sea hasn't been linked.
  • were rated at 22,000 shaft horsepower (16,000 kW) Link Kw.

  • 228 naval mines for service as an auxiliary minelayer. [1][2] Remove the unnecessary space.
    • Good catch
  • She was armed with three 12.7 cm SK C/34 naval guns in individual mountings, one forward and two aft. She also carried four 3.7 cm SK C/30 anti-aircraft guns in two dual mounts and four 2 cm C/30 anti-aircraft guns No convert of inches here?
    • Guess I didn't clean that section up enough ;)
  • Can you also round both guns in the infobox and the body?
  • Done
  • represent Germany for the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth I'm not an expert in English here but is the coronation plural here?
  • including Funchal, Madiera and Ponta Delgada in the Azores Maybe add Portugal here?
    • Done
  • Commander of the Defense of the Baltic Sea) to support the planned invasion of Poland Invasion of Poland is a proper noun.
    • Fixed
  • She led the Eastern Group to Ostende, Belgium Wait a sec. Is Ostende not the archaic version of Ostend?
    • It's also the German version - when I'm translating Hildebrand, I have a habit of thinking in German and repeating the German place names - I had to keep fixing "Tsingtau" when I wrote SMS Scharnhorst a while back.
  • You can understand German or via Google Translate?
  • I can read nautical stuff alright, though I have to look up words from time to time (speaking, not so much - but then I never practice it). I started with Google Translate, because it's been about a decade since I took German in college, but after a while, I realized I was reading it in German as I was transcribing it, so I might as well cut out the middle man.
  • @Parsecboy: I personally don't like Google Translate because it's mostly wrong instead of helping me. I use this Dutch translate website. In my opinion, it's a lot of better than Google Translate (well if we're talking about translating sentences) and more accurate however, of course, no one or nothing can translate it 100% so there might be grammar errors in it but less than in Google Translate. If you want you can use the website, English to German is an option in it. I hope you like it? Cheers. CPA-5 (talk) 15:34, 23 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Thanks, I'll have to give it a try - I always used Google Translate to get a sense of words I didn't know, since with German, I know enough of the basic grammar to fix things as I go - when I was using it, I typically had a tab for GT open at the same time I'd have the original German so I could go back and forth as I wrote. • company for use as a passenger ship in the Mediterranean Sea Unlink the sea here.

Images

  • Is there a better-edited version of the image "Bundesarchiv_DVM_10_Bild-23-63-30%2C_Staatsjacht_Aviso_"Grille".jpg"? I mean it has the information of the publisher on it?
    • Do you mean a cropped version that doesn't have the Bundesarchiv info at the bottom? If I remember correctly from when they did their donation, part of the agreement was that had to stay. But I don't know for certain, just that I've never seen it cropped off from images.
  • Oh I see no worries then same for the sentence below.

And what's the status in the US same with "File:Olympische Segelwettbewerbe 1936 (Kiel 53.190).jpg" and "File:IgrisBeyrut2.jpg"

    • I think the Creative Commons license applies for the former, and the latter has been donated - if you see the WP:OTRS ticket on an image, you know whoever donated it went through the proper channels and had ownership verified.

Infobox

  • Convert the guns who have no English units.

Sources

  • Is it possible to standardise the 10/13 ISBNs?
    • Yes
  • Some ISBNs use hyphens others don't maybe standardise them.
    • Done
  • "Collection - Thackray Medical Museum" has no real date so why is there a date and no |website= template?
    • Good question - another editor added that and I didn't mess with it.
  • Hildebrand's IBNS gives me whole other book called "Neuartiges Sekundärradar zur Entfernungsmessung: Konzept, Analyse, Erprobung (German Edition)"?
    • Huh, I wonder how that happened - it's fixed now (and now I need to check every other place I've got the 4th volume!)

That's anything from me. Cheers. CPA-5 (talk) 11:20, 19 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
