First, the user below is correct. Secondly, the majority of the article has various grammatical and syntax errors. Finally, being a resident of Wasilla, I found the information provided to be incongruous and hard to understand. For someone who doesn't have extensive experience with the Glenn, this article will paint a hazy and imprecise picture of the highway's path. Please consider completely deleting the text in this article and starting over. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.137.217.55 (talk) 12:30, 23 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure Edwin Glenn or the highway had much to do with the Klondike Gold Rush. This needs to be explored and then either referenced or corrected. Yopienso (talk) 06:39, 15 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Photographs for article

edit

File:Matanuska River 8701s.JPG (my photograph) is taken from the highway. It shows the highway (with two vehicles) running alongside the Matanuska River. It is representative of sights along the highway. The location is just east of the confluence of the Chickaloon and Matanuska Rivers. Silt-laden water from the Chickaloon River may be seen entering the Matanuska River from the right. File:Gunsight_Mountain_Glenn_Highway_2.jpg and File:Glenn Highway and Mount Drum.jpg show the highway although the latter image is low resolution and noisy. File:Matglacier.JPG is a view from the highway but does not show the highway. Please see Commons:Glenn Highway for more photographs of views from the highway. • The caption is ambiguous: The Glenn Highway runs alongside the Matanuska River and crosses the Chickaloon River at mile 76 (km 123). Can't tell which river.
  • I honestly did not see the highway in your picture until I clicked to enlarge it. To me, it's a random wilderness river shot, (Nice one, though!) whereas the Matanuska Glacier could be nowhere else in the world: it's a favorite shot from the Glenn.
  • The second photo of Gunsight Mtn. in commons is good, and the one of Mt. Drum is excellent--very typical, being seen like that for miles, and majestic.
  • Another typical sight would be one like this of Lion Head Rock.
  • I do not know how to upload or edit photos and hope you will add at least the one of Mt. Drum and restore the one of the glacier.
Best wishes! --Yopienso (talk) 06:01, 19 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Done. I'm kind of wondering why I didn't do that a long time ago when I moved most of my other images over. Beeblebrox (talk) 10:01, 20 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. Of possible interest are my pictures of Commons:Sheep Mountain (Matanuska-Susitna, Alaska) at mile 112.8 of the Glenn Highway. Walter Siegmund (talk) 18:26, 11 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why? Yopienso (talk) 18:29, 30 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
From the discussion at Commons it appears there is a higher quality version of the exact same image that it will be replaced with, so really it would be an improvement. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:33, 30 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Oh. I just looked at all the info accompanying the photo; didn't even know there was a discussion at Commons. I do well to navigate articles and talk pages. :) Yopienso (talk) 18:57, 30 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I went through the whole series on Flickr not too long ago. Good thing I held off on uploading any of them.RadioKAOS (talk) 21:43, 30 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
