Orphaned references in Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "VarietyReview":

  • From Goosebumps (film): Berkshire, Geoff (October 5, 2015). "Film Review: 'Goosebumps'". Variety. Retrieved October 14, 2015.
  • From Sony Pictures Animation: Berkshire, Geoff (October 5, 2015). "Film Review: 'Goosebumps'". Variety. Retrieved October 14, 2015. A Sony Pictures Entertainment release of Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation presentation in association with LStar Capital and Village Roadshow Pictures of an Original Film and Scholastic Entertainment production.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 10:39, 31 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Can we lock this page

edit

I want to lock Goosebumps 2 Haunted this page so no one can edit it at all until the movie is release. Ambandicoot (talk) 06:05, 30 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Plz do not remove Avery Lee Jones name because he is confirmed no Jack Black in Goosebumps Haunted Halloween and he confirmed that himself is voiceing Slappy Check this link it is true because he is also Slappy Puppeteer in last film Goosebumps alsohttps://twitter.com/AveryLJones/status/1018384673263808512 this is a true information so can you leave it alone plz so this page will soon get full movie details until Goosebumps 2 Haunted Halloween come out in October 12th ok so plz stop it ok GoosebumpsUk1Fan (talk) 08:54, 30 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Twitter is not a reliable source, and shouldn't even be considered to be "true information". He even said in his tweet that "they still have plenty of time to change their minds!", so it's not even confirmed yet. theinstantmatrix (talk) 09:31, 30 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
"Tweets and other self-published material may sometimes be acceptable, if the conditions specified at WP:SPS or WP:TWITTER are met." and "Self-published and questionable sources may be used as sources of information about themselves." Twitter can be used as a source — so long as the tweets author is talking about themselves. (Sidenote, Jones is a man.) GoosebumpsArt (talk) 14:44, 1 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Yes, GbA is right! NickDummy (talk) 14:51, 1 August 2018 (UTC)NickDummyReply

But that doesn't mean Black is confirmed either! NickDummy (talk) 11:40, 30 July 2018 (UTC)NickDummyReply

Yes and we will lock this page until further notice so remove that twitter link when you are unblock Goosbumpsuk1fan.--Ambandicoot (talk) 14:38, 30 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Like theinstanmatrix said twitter is not a reliable source. So we on this website have decided to lock this page. Ambandicoot (talk) 15:08, 30 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Look Avery Lee Jones is he not she have you take look at Cast of Goosebumps 2015 film he does Puppeteer for Slappy and this movie Avery does voice for Slappy that it you have to see it on end credits roll that cast names on it GoosebumpsUk1Fan (talk) 12:43, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Which is come out in October 12th 2018 GoosebumpsUk1Fan (talk) 12:43, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Goosebumps1Ukfan do not edit this page ever again. We will block you if you keep putting that twitter link on this page. Jack Black was confirmed by Sony Pictures to do Slappy's voice for this movie, and it's already been decided. So therefore Avery Jone is not doing Slappy's voice in this movie. Ambandicoot (talk) 21:48, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

NickDummy the same goes for you as well. Stay off of this page. Or you will be block as well. I will not repeat myself again. Ambandicoot (talk) 00:43, 1 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hey what did I do? I only added that link once! No offense, but you're kind of a bully.NickDummy (talk) 14:49, 1 August 2018 (UTC)NickDummyReply

Look Jack Black is not Confirmed to voice Slappy yet plz just wait to see Goosebumps Haunted Halloween with End Credit to see Who is Voiceing Slappy user agree and accept my challenge to see who is voiceing Slappy in Goosebumps Haunted Halloween if Jack Black or Avery Lee Jones will voice Slappy in Sequel so film get Information about Slappy voice actor so plz agree with this and wait to see Goosebumps Haunted Halloween with End Credit to get Information about Slappy voice actor GoosebumpsUk1Fan (talk) 07:04, 4 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

@GoosebumpsUk1Fan: I've reverted, and removed some statements relating to "Avery Lee Jones" because there's no mention of him in the sources. Saying that "look, just see the credits and we'll see who is right" is just bullshit. We editors add Jack Black in here because he did voice Slappy in the previous film, and Jones controlling the puppet of him, and that there's reliable sources saying that he might be coming back to voice Slappy again. You're already risking another block because of your long-term edit warring with users who reverted you and yet again after your block has expired. See the new AN3 report here. theinstantmatrix (talk) 07:28, 4 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Read this plz https://deadline.com/2018/04/goosebumps-2-cinemacon-sony-1202375147/ Also after you read this As for now I am not editing this Goosebumps Haunted Halloween page till one person edited this page now or till October 12th 2018 GoosebumpsUk1Fan (talk) 08:30, 4 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Page protected due to the edit war. Come to a consensus, keeping in mind WP:BLP, as to the casting as any more edit warring after the protection expires may result in blocks. --NeilN talk to me 11:41, 4 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

He isn't confirmed. No sense in playing like he is. He did the work, obviously, but let's not spread misinformation.

So can we get the cast settle until the film is release. Because someone keeps adding false information in the production section. Ambandicoot (talk) 04:21, 15 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Plot Summary Length

edit

The plot summary was needlessly long and overly complicated. It swamped the article, and thus I edited it down drastically. It was about three times the recommended length for a plot summary (about 400-700 words, as per Wikipedia's recommendations), and I managed to get it down to just under 600 words. Please don't revert these edits or add back in all the excessive details.

MaximumMadnessStixon (talk) 20:47, 17 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Wow, the previous version was over 1,600 words! Nice job with this; the rewrite is definitely an improvement to be in line with guidelines. Wikipedia articles should be focused more on what secondary sources say about a topic rather than detail the primary source itself. Any edits to the plot summary should avoid lengthening the current version any more. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 21:28, 17 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately, the plot has been lengthened again several times. Please people, it's against the site's recommended rules, and it makes the plot too excessive and swamps the article. MaximumMadnessStixon (talk) 19:06, 11 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
edit

Does the plot summary need to link to the article for the first movie twice? It feels a bit excessive to me but if it complies with the site's policies I suppose it should stay. I wanted to make sure before removing it myself, or if someone else wants to remove it. Videogame.enjoyer (talk) 20:57, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Good catch! It's definitely not necessary. Feel free to be bold and remove it. ♠PMC(talk) 22:34, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay, will do! Thanks for letting me know. Videogame.enjoyer (talk) 22:49, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
